EF siR cluster No Wiring Included. HOW DO I INSTALL????
ok.. i got an siR cluster from ebay for my 89 crx .. so the tach will finally match the engine... but, the jerk didnt included a cut harness...
is there a way to wire the cluster still or am i gonna have to find a harness somewhere?? also.. is the ef siR cluster direct plug and play for 90-91, or do you have to rewire it all for them too?? thanks for any help ....if any..
You need to get plugs from another EF and cut them to fit. Take the two extra plugs from the 2nd car and cut 1 receptacle per side from both plugs (4 total). This will make 2 of the JDM plugs you need. You'll have have 3 plugs on the back of the SIR and 2 on your car. The big plug you will need to reuse the one in your car. It is far from bolt in but not hard at all. It took me about 20 minutes to do it. Buy a set of micro screw drivers from Radio Shack. The smallest flat head screwdriver works great for releasing the wires from the plugs. Do a search for "SIR cluster" in the CRX/Civic section. You'll find links to wiring sites. I found that most of them were wrong but the colors of the wires were right. When I say they are wrong, I mean they tell you where the wires are located in your CRX harness and they are wrong. They tell you where they go on the SIR cluster and they are correct. The hardest part was to lenthen the two wires that feed the gas and temp gauges. You'll also need an electric VSS to drive the speedo. Do yourself a favor and buy an electric KPH/MPH converter like I did so that the JDM cluster read MPH. It's sweet. Now my speedo reads to 190mph. Depending on what ECU you have or if you have cruise control, you'll need to wire the VSS signal wire into your harness.
It looks like you've only posted 3 times so I assume you're new. Next time try searching to see if your question has been covered. The "search **** *******" will flame you for reasking a question, and swell guy ElVap
will lock your thead if he doesn't like your question.

Just wondering where you got yours at, I did a google, and the only sites i could find that had em were in england, and they said they were for motorcylces, even though i am assuming they would probably work

I got mine from speedohealer.com
I forget how much it was but it was less the $100, far less than a speeding ticket.
It has a top speed recall button that is for squids but if that's something you like pay extra and get the remote mounted button, you won't want the healer showing.
It was not plug and play but it was only 4 wires.
The perfect time to put it in was while wiring the SIR and VSS.
On the SIR cluster charts you'll find wiring colors that are 12V switched and one that is ground. When you split the ground to feed the two plugs on the SIR cluster split it once more for the VSS. I went to Auto Zone. They sold 4 wire trailer wiring by the foot $0.39/ft. I peeled one of the wires off and used the other 3 to feed the VSS. I ran the wires strait from the VSS to the cluster. Then I tied the positive into a switched 12V from the cluster and the negitive to one on the cluster. The VSS hooks to the speedo. Down by my ECU I cut the wires and tied the healer in. The 4 wires are 12V, ground, VSS in, VSS out. I tied the ECU into the healer's VSS in just in case it would screw up Vtec in first gear. I forget what MPH the ecu is looking for to engauge Vtec and I will eventually lower mine really low. The healer will cut the VSS signal by 40%. I didn't want to reach 21mph and have the ECU only see 12.6mph. That might have caused a lag in the Vtec. A B16 or ITR would probably be fine since it kicks in at higher RPM.
The other night my brother and I "tested" the healer and recall up to 142mph. Pretty sweet.

thank you very very much.... i am up across the border though so the km/h speedo works well for me...
i didnt mean to repost, i did a search but it seems soo many people have posted soo many different things about it that people opinions and methods conflict. didnt really make clear sense... it's always nice to get a straight answer from another person just to clarify...
thanks again...
