Help figure out my engine problem and i will Paypal you $20
I just installed a new z6 in my hatchback and having problems starting it up. Anyone have any tips going about this? Some detailed directions would be great. I did a search but there wasn't much detailed information.
Things I've checked:
- the spark plug wire sparks
- hoses
- fuses
- wiring
Any help will be greatly appreciated
The engine is cranking, turning over, but just not starting. It does smell like fuel so I'm sure it's getting fuel. I checked for spark by putting the spark plug wire next to a bolt and yes it sparked. As far as timing goes, this engine was removed from a running civic 3-4 months ago. It started right up back then, but it has just been sitting for the past 3-4 months. As for the plugs, everything is plugged in.
If you can point out what's wrong and give me detailed instructions how to go about fixing it, I'll paypal you $20. Remember, your suggestion is worth $20 if it starts my engine.

Checking for fuel by saying 'it smells like fuel' isnt always the best way.
When you turn your key to the 'on' position (the one right before the engine starts to crank) do you hear the main relay click and the fuel pump prime?

Also, this might sound stupid but i have seen distributor caps go bad, and still send a spark out to one or two cylinders. If you have a spare cap lying around try swapping it out to see what happens.
Well, if youre sure you have spark and youre sure you have fuel because you smell it, im going to go with timing. I know you said the engines been sitting but i dont think it would hurt to pull that timing cover off and take a look. Valvecover as well, this could be a mechanical problem.

Check the firing order of the spark plug wires. Where they unmounted from the cap, if so then if they were put on the wrong spot on the distributor then it will not run.

Thanks for trying to help me.
Here's an update:
When I had the injectors out of the intake manifold and tried to start it, the injectors didn't shoot out fuel. Is this how it is suppose to be?

when i pull out the injectors from teh rail, fuel squirts out. The 240cc came out of a running motor that i took out, can it clog up in 3 days? I tried putting one of my dsm injectors, fuel isn't coming out still
hey, what ecu are u running? obd1? obd2? what year is that motor and the injectors?
could be possible the impedence/ohms on the injectors is off.... do u need a Resistor box in there..?... u may. if u need one and u dont have one. the inj's will not fire.
