JDM front end conv. Fiberglass or metal?
My friend has an ITR with an effed up front end,
he's going to fix it up with a jdm front end conversion.
now he's found a place he wants to buy the parts from,
but there are two options, either fiberglass, or metal.
i'm thinking fiberglass would be lighter, but fitment would be far more important.
which do you guys think is best?
I think the metal one is cheaper too..
lmk thanks

yea me too.. i wrecked my front end with jdm conversion.. i have the all metal front end and was trying to see if i can just get the fiberglass ones but im too scared fitment will be off
Well I dont think either of the ones hes looking at are oem honda ...
oem would be far too expensive( i think its like 2-3grand for just the parts, whereas these are like 1300-1600).
So aftermarket metal vs fiberglass then?
metal still the better choice as far as fitment goes?

actually, it is. and the answer is still metal.
tell your friend that if he's not looking for oem metal, then he's looking for junk.

Well, as far as more expensive for the metal ones, I'm not sure about that... I just bought a USED OEM conversion with HID's for $1,350 out of Houston. I don't think you can get a fiberglass one for that, especially with HID's. I drove up there and hand picked my stuff and drove it back, so I didn't have to pay shipping and prolly got better a little stuff, but either way, I don't think my situation was too unusual. Was it?
It was used so there were some dings and scratches, etc. but nothing that was too bad to fix.
If you wanted all new metal, yeah those are more, but I personally wouldn't think it I would recommend new after seeing how easy mine were to fix.

ah ok,
so there arent any knockoff oem look metal jdm front ends out there?
the price he said sounded alittle too-good to be true for oem imo..
Definetely i'll tell him metal is the way to go though.
thanks.

Down with fiberglass JDM fronts.
There'd be virtually no flex in the parts thus resulting in a crappy fitting front conversion with gaps etc.

fiberglass JDM frontends can be found for $600~$800 for hood, bumper, fenders. i know on ebay that have it for that much. i would never trust myself with anything other than metal and carbon fiber.

I got it at Sun's Auto (http://www.sunsauto.com). I talked to Jose, and he was real cool about the whole deal.
They ship direct into Houston, and have a bunch of things you can get. They have Nissan, Toyota, Honda, etc., front clips, whole cars, motors, suspension stuff, pretty much everything you can think of. Oh, and they have a butt-load of rims. I can't remember what kind, but I do remember them haveing stacks and stacks of them.
Anyway, if you wanna mention that you heard of them through Adrian on Honda-Tech, I don't mind at all.
Thanks,
Adrian

Well, I actually checked it from the link I posted and it worked for me... Not sure what the deal is.
I think they might be listed as Sun's Motorsports, or something like that, but the website is http://www.sunsauto.com, as far as I know.
I know the phone number works, if that helps,
