I am looking at getting some 2.25" piping bent for my exhaust and using a es Oval muffler I have laying around the shop. Are these mufflers loud? I am looking for something fairly quiet like an Apexi WS or RS*R. SHould I sell it and get one of those cat back systems?

 

es oval muffler isnt loud unless your at wide open throttle....
do you have a resonator???
what kind of cat r u thikning of using

 

Stock cat for now. The only problem I have is the es is 2.5" inlet/outlet. I am just trying to stay away from those buzzy loud exhausts.

 

look in my signature at my VX TURBO part II.. there is a clip of a test drive.. and im running a 2.25 polished ES.

 

if you planning on gettting a 2.25 bent exhaust with es oval muffler.....you should just save your money and get a quality exhuast.......

My point is that I already have the es and got it free so why not save some $$ and get the pipe bent and just put it all together?

i ran an ES on my civic for a few years. loved it.

 

i had a magnaflow 5"x8" oval (same as es oval)
22" magnaflow resonator
stock cat
4-1 header

it was way loud!

Right click, save as..., it was a clip while i was running sea foam through the manifold.

its a very nice muffler.. cheap as hell, and ive recived alot of completments, and some of those... "is that a stock muffler..? how did you get it to sound like that?" lol

its a very good choice.. not loud and obnoxious at all.
