Found a rex for sale
I was dropping off a friend and as i was leaving the neighborhood i see this rex with a for sale sign, its an si, it has clear lights on the back so im thinking its gonna suck, the guy comes outside i ask him questions and he doesnt know a DAMN thing about the car. he tells me nothing is done to it, except the exhaust which i see sticking out the back... anyways the hood latch is broke so he calls his neighbor to come show me the car.
He pops the hood, theres a clean looking LS swap with a nice looking set of headers. The car is sitting low so i look up under the wheels but it looked stock so im guessing cut springs
anyway the guy is asking 2500 bucks but theres no way im gonna pay that. im thinking i will offer him 1800 bucks tops. The car is dark blue, clear tail lights, clear corners but one is busted. the inside looked good. Its an 88 Si. what price do u think sounds fair? i believe the odometer read just over 100k...

Maybe take it for a test drive too, to make sure it doesn't run like total ***. Otherwise it sounds like you may have stumbled upon a good little fixer-upper.
oh hell nah, i just called him and he said he took it out yesterday and the hood flew up and broke his windshield lol, now he has to get a new hood and windshield and its gonna cost 2800. F that

actually im thinking of offering him 2 grand for the car as-is. Now who here wouldnt pick up a rex si with a ls swap for 2 grand.
But damn you said it will cost like 700 to fix? no way to get it done cheaper? i got some store credit at the junkyard lol, im sure i could pick up a hood. Although, if it flew off in the wind im sure it broke other stuff too, like whatever the hood bolts onto.
Any of you ever broke your windshield? what did it cost to fix up?

I broke my windshield once and it was in the mid $200's if I remember correctly. Also, if you go to the junkyard you could get a hood for cheap. **** I have an extra hood at my house, if you lived around here I would have hooked you up. When my hood got messed up a couple years ago, I absolutely could not find an OEM one anywhere (yeah I wasn't on Honda Tech, I didn't have internet LOL). So as a result I was stuck with buying a carbon fiber one for a few hundred dollars.
i think if you try hard enough, you could probably get everything replaced for a few hundred bucks, as long as the body wasn't damaged in the incident.
