i have a 5th gen accord sedan, and i want to remove the orange reflectors from my taillights. It is impossible to get the reflector out without somehow cutting open the plastic housing. is there a safe way that i can open it up and effectively reclose the backs of the taillight housings?
yup...i've done it on my 96 accord
take off the taillight...heat up your oven about to about 200 (start at lowest temp, cuz some ovens heat faster than others)
let it sit in the oven for about 3-4 mintues...take out the light and loosen the edges by inserting a flat head screw driver
keep puttin the light back in the oven for small intervals and keep prying with the flat head
soon the light will come apart....take out teh orange reflector......then push the light back togerther as much as you can
put it back in the ovne to heat it up for about the 3-4 minutes again.....now the glue (silicon) will be mushy again, and push the taillight in and hold it together until the glue hardens
and voila!! DONe...same thing with the other side
my first light took my about 1 hour...cuz i was soo scared of cracking the lense.....the 2nd one took me about half the time

I used a dremel to cut out a piece of the back of the headlight, and slide out the amber lense... Then I used a lil heat to "solder" the plastic back together and sealed it up, I guess it is the "ghetto" way of doing it, but it was faster and theres no risk of melting your lights.
