I've heard the A6 is the best block because it has the strongest rods. Don't quote me on that, but either way the A6 is awesome, just couple that with a Y8 head and you'll have lotsa fun!
ok heres another question?????
if you were to boost, stock wise, what would you swap into your 90?........
and juss for future reference, what are the engine codes for the SOHC VTEC motors, isnt it just D15B i aint sure..?

I thought the A6 rods were more beefy than the z6?
If you are going to boost a stock engine, I would go with the strongest rods, the A6...
Plus, with an A6 you don't have to mess with wiring up VTEC or OBD1...

All the other 90+ A6, Z6 and Y8s have a solid 1 peice aluminum girdle. I think the best motor combo for a build and boosted D16 would be a A6 block and a ported Z6 head (not the Y8 becasue the chamber is small thus it raises the static compression ratio a bit more)
edit: forgot that the 1st gen ZCs have the thickest stock rods on the D16s but they are VERY hard to find

I'm not 100% sure one this, just what I've heard. But I heard that the D series motors arn't great on boost with a stock bottom end because they have much weaker rods/pistons than most B series.
I'm not 100% sure of that, just one of the things I've heard on HT
