Default Out of curiousity!!!

If an owner of a Mitsubishi Eclipse GS 1998, DOHC, N/A. adds DC Sports Headers, an Injen Cold Air Intake, and an Apexi N1 full exhaust system. How much horsepower will the car gain? Here's where I'm trying to get... My friend owns one, and he bought those parts and told me that it would add about 40 horsepowers to his car. Of course I started laughing, but he seemed pretty serious about it and even made me bet him money and asked me to do my own research. As soon as he said "do your own research"... I told myself, what research? The only research I need is the people from Honda-tech. Who better than Honda-tech??!! You tell me...
So going back to the topic, how much true horsepower will he gain adding these parts to his car? Help me out please...

This will be moved to GDD im sure.

But anyway to answer your question, yes basic bolt ons could make 40hp IF the car was a GS-T (minus the header of course). GS-T's are so easy to make more power with just an exhaust and boost controller.

lol, yeah well it aint no GS-T. Just a GS. But I do agree with you about the potential GS-Ts have. Outstanding work by Mistubishi. I would agree with 15 hp for GS. But 40 is too much. Just cause ebay says a part adds 20 horsepowers to your car, it dont mean you gotta believe it... lol

he reads ads too much. they say "produce up to 15hp" on each of those products. not "produces 15hp instantly." the "up to" depends on what other engine modifications he has. i'm going to say about 15hp altogether with those products.
