Starter Problem
First off I like to say Hi, im a brand new member. I was pointed towards this forums by a friend when I told him about my problems.
Anyway, my problem is that the car does not start.
Its a 1995 Honda Accord 4 door, and this isnt the first time this has happened. This happened about a year ago. Last time it was caused by this little chip falling out of its socket. its placed to the left and below the steering wheel and as I got into the car, I hit it with my leg and it poped out. plugging the thing back into its socket fixxed it last time. This time, I hit it and I put it back in but the car still isnt durning on. I dont hear the fuel pump nor the starter cranking. Im not sure what the little device I hit is called, but its basically a circuit connecter you would see on a NES cartridge, with a plastic holder around it. The holder looks like it was made to go around a key chain or something. Anyway, I moved the ..thing.. around a bit but the car still will not start. What to do?

sorry for replying to my own post as it is generally frowned upon from previous experience
But I did a bit of searching and the thingy i hit is generally called a "passkey" part of the VATS system. So I hit the passkey, it poped out of place, i put it back in the socket. and now the car doesnt start. My friend said to disconnect and reconnect the battery. Im out of ideas.

welcome to h-t.com
disconecting your battery will reset the computer and whatnot, not sure if it will solve your problem honestly but worth a try.
you know if all else fails you can take the part to the dealership for an expensive replacement (which makes for a good learning lesson... stop beating up your car...
)
I need to lookup this passkey thing... I am clueless about it but can check my helm manual.

I called the dealer today, and its not something stock. Its most likely a aftermarket secuirty system. Now to find out who made it and how to remove it.
I again applogize for the double post, just consider this a dumb bumb
I took a few pictures of the setup. The pictures are a bit large, so 56Kers be warned.
Im trying to find out who manufactured this system. If maybe then I could find out how to remove it.

check with a local security place maybe they use them and can shed some light on the problem.
or get a drink get some food and sit down and try to find out how they have it wired into the system and remove it

I don't know if you solved your problem but I know what it is. It's a security system that car lot's install so cars can't be stollen. A friend of mine used to work for a ford dealership and they used the same system. Usually they will ask you if you want to keep it and if so they charge you extra for it, and if you don't want to pay extra they put the key in and break it off. At least this is how the ford dealership did it. You may be able to call around and find out what dealerships use it and if they can help you out.
Hope this helps somewhat.
