Do i need the O2 bung(the option) for a 2.5" cat for my obdI 94 gsr??? just wondering

 

Where is the O2 sensor located? In the mid-pipe or in the cat? if it's in the b-pipe of the header, then you don't need a bung.

 

The o2 for a 94 gsr is located on the stock cat, so if you get a carsound cat and run a 94-99 gsr header, then yes, you will need to have an o2 bung in the cat. Only 94-01 LS and 00-01 GSR headers have an o2 at the collector in the header.

 

what about a jdm type r header???

 

i am pretty sure they all have an o2 in the header, so in that case, you could get a carsound cat with no o2 bung. However, a regular 94 gsr carsound one won't fit, you will need to take some measurements to get the right combo of jdm itr/cat/exhaust, or you could PM SMSP or kteller8 and see if they know the exact measurements you will need based on your exact setup.
