Default How do I get rid of this motor!!!????

I have an f23 in great condition with a brandspankin new tranny (4k miles). The motor is complete except the harness, pwr string pump, and tps. My problem is I can't give it away. Many interested, but I can't with a clean concience tell a buyer that the motor will fit in his civic, crx, 5th gen accord, etc. I get mixed answers on what this motor will fit in. I have checked the swap guides, but honestly this isnt a very popular motor. Anyone know where a chart that DOES include this motor might be found?

f23 vtec motors arent worth that much for some reason. At the local junkyards, they price f23 vtec motors at $350 regardless of mileage and the f22 vtec at 650 for some reason.
I just installed a f23 vtec motor in a 96 accord, so whoever is interested, that is something that will fit perfectly.. but the tranny might not.

I know what you mean. And I can't understand why this mototr isn't more popular. I know it's on the weaker side, but I'm sure if you could get it into a crx or hatch, it would do just fine. I also know they take turbo very well. My buddy turbo'd his, and he just loves that motor.

just so you know, you can put the f23 into an eg/ek with the use of a h-series mount kit. you could put both the engine and transmission in. f/h have pretty identical blocks.

this is why i asked you about it because this is my plan for the spring and i'm in mass.

You dont have recyclers in your area ?? where I live there are people that will come to your house and pick up any scrap metal you have lying around. Then they go sell it for scrap.

You could do this swap. But it is MUCH more involved than a typical B-series swap. And anyone willing to go through what it takes to get this motor into a Civic is going to want something more in terms of power. Simply put, it is hard to justify the effort of swapping an F23 when you take into consideration its power output.

I tried, but no motor recyclers. I refuse to scrap it, it's in great condition with nre tranny, why would I let it go for nothing?!

f23 will fit anywhere a f22 or h motor will fit. tranny will bolt up to any of those motors.

is it an auto or manual tranny? the auto tranny is GARBAGE even if it's brand new.
PM me if you start to part this thing out.

It would be just like doing a h22 swap except about 70 hp difference, it is gonna cost the same amount for the swap. But if someone desperately wants to do a swap into a civic to get rid of their d series engine and don't have that much money, it's on the cheaper and more powerful....

when I said it's gonna cost the same amount of money for the swap, I meant for installation. Not for cost of engine, tranny, ecu etc...

I think you're confused...you need custom mounts to do this swap, as well as an axle setup. Not exactly a cheap and easy way out of D-series. I think you are missing the point - F series blocks are way more boostable than the H series blocks. Not to mention the potential to build awesome H + F series hybrid motors like some of the guys in this forum (PirateMcFred, Sam1Am, some others I think..)

too bad I can barely afford to feed and clothe myself, or I'd take it
