Buddy Club Japan closing down???
I called A&J Racing this afternoon to get some pricing on Buddy Club Racing Spec Dampers for my ITR and was surprised to hear that they won't quote because Buddy Club Japan is closing down...
I was a little confused, so I asked if Buddy Club was still selling out of the USA?
They responded yes, but that the BCRS - USA damper was of different quality and that A&J wasn't carrying it.
I called Buddy Club Canada (AKA Velocity Racing), and they didn't know anything about Buddy Club Japan closing and gave me a price on a set of coilovers.
I think the guys at A&J are straight up with their customers & I'm not trying to start a rumor here, but can someone please verify if what they said is true?
Also, from what I researched, I didn't see any differences in the BC Japan and BC USA/Canada RS dampers other than spring rates in the rear being 8K for the JDM version as opposed to 6K for North America. Are there any differences?

I think Buddy Club stuff has been made in Taiwan for some time now, I guess the mfr. there is taking over the brand identity. It was always curious NOT to see the Buddy Club cams being sold in Japan.
Old-skool Buddy Club was nice

I doubt theyre closing down because Buddy Club transported their EK4 race car with 250bhp mugen engine over to the Uk only last month to co-incide with, and help advertise Buddy Clubs first official agent opening in the UK (to cover europe)
The used BCIII exhaust I picked up says on it Made in Japan ... But I don't know
I'm hoping to buy a BC suspension one day when I can afford it

ssr allegedly still has new rims coming out this year, and is a big supplier for the jgtc as far as i know. tire rack has also not confirmed this that I can find. i still don't put stock in it anyways. hell didn't mugen go bankrupt, and they are still around. bankruptcy doesnt mean it is the end of the road.

they are, but sometimes they dont always have the correct answers. when i emailed them about knowing anything about a spoon ef gauge. they said they never made them.
and i asked them twice with different emails and got the same answer.. later i had to email them a photo of it and ofcoarse they changed their answer to " oh i thought you ment do they still make them"
my cousin in japan says they are still in business so who knows.

I guess my concern is after sales support. Is Buddy Club USA/Canada able to service the coilovers? Can I get them repaired in North America if the shocks get blown, provided it's feasible?

damn good question. stuff like this is why i try and avoid jdm parts for suspension and things like that. headers exhaust etc. can always be fixed easily but when you need shocks rebuilt, well i dunno...
BC Japan is owned by First Company Inc. and BC US is owned by AAI Motorpsorts in TW. First company Inc. has went bankrupt so all Buddyclub products will not be developed and manufactured in Japan anymore which most of the parst from BC US aren't made in Japan.
BC US is still in business, so for those who had ordered parts from them should not be worried cuz they still have Buddyclub brand parts manufactured in TW.

What else do they make besides exhaust and coilovers?
I thought they were a body kit company before, or is there another company that have a similar name?
