Default Honda Oil Filter help..

My buddy got this box of filters and we have no idea what they are from. He said hes put them on B16's, GSR's.. H22's, but Im kinda sketchy. Are the oem honda filters universal?

Heres the pics, ill tell you what you need to after I learn Japanese.

The part number on it is S41962.

Sorry, camera phone.. no digital around.

And just to make sure that we dont mess up any motors putting them in..

and I just want to make sure that I can put it on my LS/VTEC with out problems.. I dont feel like running and getting another filter for $10 haha.

I can't tell from the blurry pictures but Honda switched from the fat/short style filter to the newer thin/tall filter for Civics/Integras/RSX. The S2000 has a different filter.

The new tall/thin ones work fine.

From what I know all honda filters are universal, except S2000 has a higher quality filter with larger internal surface area.

They switched size recently (like 2 years ago) and the new one is skinner with less media, made by Fram instead of Filtech. Now that pissed me off one day when after a dealer service I found that and can't pull my oil filter out when I want to change my oil.

So I use the screw driver trick to get it out, and then order S2000 filter from then on.

According to my local dealer's parts dept. they all use the same except the s2k and the hybrids.

Just call a local dealer to be sure.

If it seals and doesn't bite threads....
