Default 90 Prelude Si HELP PLEASE

hello every1, i just bought a 90 Prelude Si and i have a few questions. First of all, it has 168 thousand miles on it, i bought it from the original owner, it is in mint condition, and has been absolutely BABIED all it's life. This guy Allan that I bought it from told me he never ran the hell out of it like i would do to it. I took it for a test drive and it's awesome, i love it. But when you are pressin the pedal to the metal it rattles a bit when it hits 4k and quits then does it once more at 5k. My dad and i V.I.C the car last weekend, and for those who dont know what that is, its a fluid you run through the intake, brake booster, and it sucks into the engine and cleans the valves, combustion chambers, etc. Anyway, i was thinkin maybe if i put some 93 octane in it it would quit rattlin the pistons at 4 and 5K rpms. If anyone has any ideas please tell me, it is greatly appreciated. Please dont pick on my run on sentences or bad typing, Thanks

There's a thread somewhere on here about the downsides of running higher octane. I doubt it will help you very much.

it will help the oinghing, but it sounds like (if it is pinging) that its a cylander sensor or timing issue, check the timing and then check the ECU for a cel code

well, this man is very simple and honestly never ever ran it hard becasue he gave me huge files full of info (maintnence) since the day he got it. he got 360-400 miles per tank and ive had it only a couple weeks and i get about 200-220 miles per tank so i gotta beleive him. Anyway, the engine does not ping at all, it is piston rattle, im sure of it. This is the first time in 15 years this car was actually driven for what it is and thats a sports car. I drive it hard and fast and he babied it, meaning not going over 3-3.5K rpms. The motor runs strong and it will burn the tires off it its so powerful but i just dont like the rattle. I am low on gas now so ill try filling it up in the next few days with 93 octane gas. Write back please, Thanks

Yes, its fixed. I filled it up w/ 93 octane this evening and it doesn't rattle at all. I am going to put a short ram intake on it next weekend. And the following weekends i will be putting on a full exhaust system. The car is getting all its's main seals like cam seals, valve cover seal, rear main seal, clutch, etc.
