91 crx dx b16 swap done, wont start. no fuel no spark*searched already*
1991 crx dx with b16 swap
car will not start
converted to mpfi
checked wiring 100 times, everything is correct
all grounds hooked uo, thermostat, the one by the tranny and the one on the valve
cover
checked all fuses and releys. all are good.
fuel is getting to the rail but injectors are not firing.
have power at the coil
have also put the ecu and distributor on my friends b16 crx and they are both fine
wtf is wrong?
thanks in advance for any help

There should be two grounds for the valve cover. One going to the forward-driver side valve cover nut and another going to the cylinder head hole right next to it.
Also how did you know your wiring was good? did you check for continuity or whatever?
will the motor at least turnover, or does it just click?

both grounds are hooked up on the valve cover. motor turns over but will not fire.
so... all of the grounds are hooked up? the one on the thermostat aswell?? are the injectors good? also did u check your fuses? i had the prob where my car didnt start and it was the #14 fuse i believe the alt. solenoid reg. or something like that... hope u get it running
oh yeah is the ecu known to b good? also do u hear the relay click? just trying to trouble shoot for u. can u hear the fuel pump turn one a build pressure when u turn the key in the on position??? the dizzy good? sorry man hope u get it up quick theres not much worse than swapping and have it not start
all grounds hooked up, i know the ecu and distributor are good. put both in my friends crx and it ran great. fuel pump is working and fuel is getting to the fuel rail.

I have the spark problem and possibly the fuel problem as well, not sure since I haven't checked the fuel system yet, I figure I'll fix problems one at a time. Heres my thread, https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1181230 . I'm about to just drag mine to the race shop and let them fix the damn thing or roll it into the river and collect the insurance!! I checked every single damn wire and every connection and they all test out fine and the only code it throws when cranking it over is for the 4 wire heated O2 sensor.
ill try my friends distributor in there but i dont think it will work cause the one in my car worked in his. This one has me stumpped
i'm betting it's the grounds, turn the key to on and watch the ECU's LED, it should flash once quickly every time you turn the key on. if it dosent blink clean the thermostat ground and try again. this happened to me like 2 days ago on my friend's 89 MPFI swaped hatch

ill try this but i checked the ground with a test light and each wire coming off the thermostat had ground.

Have you tried swapping the two white wires for the crank angle sensor?

yea, still nothing
yea, still nothing
Have you pulled one of the plugs to see if it sparks when you crank it?
Also,
What injectors are you using? resistor box or no resistor box?

Ok so no spark, I assume the injectors are not firing either. Not sure how you could verify that easily.
I would bet its the distributer since you said you already checked the coil.

first.. make sure your using a obd0 distributor with an obd0 ecu. or obd1 ecu with a obd1/2 distributor. crank sensor is different.
you need to check the inputs the ecu needs to send spark and control fuel. crank, tdc, cyl positions sensors. i would use an oscilloscope but most people dont have them so just use a ohm meter and check the sensors at the ecu connectors(unplug ecu before you check) should have approx. 350ohms. the 3 sensors tell the computer when to fire spark and fuel at a certain time so i think this is the problem. if you only have no spark then check the yellow/green wire to the ignitor(loose?)

im using obd0 distributor with obd0 ecu. im gonna check the ohms at the ecu. tried a brand new distributor and my friends ecu and still no fuel or spark. have fuel at the fuel rail but injectors are not firing. this is really gay
Bump
Ever figure out the problem?..
D16y7 was just swapped into my car after a bad D16a6.. I did everything and converted the DX to MPFI.... D16a6 worked.. now the D16y7 isn't getting spark and isn't getting fuel to the injectors.. but is to the rail and filter... MaaaaAAaaD strange.. and its really pissing me off
