This goes out to all the h22/civic regulars in here, most of you know my current setup, but for any of you that don't it's:
99 ej8
93 jdm h22
anr header
no ac
no ps
I live in south florida and the hot days are starting up again. I pretty much shanked my whole a/c system last spring when I decided to get the header. Well I am much better off now thanks to a big raise at work and I finally paid off the civic. I'm getting a $2500 bonus this week and I have seriously been considering getting a/c back into the civ.
I've worked out a deal with a buddy in Georgia (shut up Kabir) to trade my header for all of his a/c stuff and his stock header. The question I have for you guys is, What would you do? If i get all this stuff from him, I'll have to spend like $400 tops on fixing the rest of it, if it fits right to begin with. Opinions... put yourself in my shoes...
Edit: Or I could look for a sub $2k civ/crx w/ a working a/c.

I would say screw ac, but I don't live in Florida either. I've got a 93 del sol with no ac, ps, abs, or cc. Its stripped, and I like it that way. If I wanted something comfortable, I wouldn't drive a modified honda.
bah, a/c, roll with the windows down bro.
Believe me, i know what Florida weather is like too, so i know what you're sayin about heat and humidity. Just hit the local DQ when you get too warm......lol.
but on a more serious note, no, i honestly wouldnt trade the header for a/c.

Yea I decided last night not too. I've already got some jdm h22 cams @ RM to get regrinded so I might as well see what kind of power I can make with them. My big thing is I finally finished paying off this car and I want to wait at least 1 1/2 years to 2 years before I get something else. Ah **** it.
**** that, put in the A/C
You don't want to have to buy another car just turn up the air, do you ??

a/c is a great thing if you ask me, specially if you live in florida or texas and have very high tems and high humidity.
i dont run ac on my civic but i also have 2 other ac equipped hybrids for comfortable driving. in your cas id just buy a beater with ac and drive that most of the time.
btw i have done h22 swaps in civics with ac and i hated it cauyse it made things so tight and hard to deal with. not something i will be repeating unless considerable money is changing hands.

That's dick. You did write that in drunken St. Patty's Day gibberish ya know and I do know a couple of things about cars.
Thanks for all the replies boys, but I've made an even better decision. I finaly paid off the 99 Coupe and was just not looking forward to driving w/ out ac in it for a couple of years. I got that bonus today and I am off to find an eg.
Yes I know, I am selling out my ek boys, but I'm basically doing an engine bay swap from whatever eg-style car I get to the current coupe. I'm super excited about it and I'm going to see one this weekend that looks like it might be a keeper and for only $1900!
The the total of the swap will cost me basically mounts. And there is obviously the work of swapping them as well as the rewiring for everything. But with simply a 400lb (Currently 2750 w/ driver, hoping for 2350 w/ driver) weight reduction from the coupe to the eg I should easily be around 13.5s. If i would've thought of this earlier I probably wouldn't have ordered those Rocket Motorsports regrinds, but since they are already paid for they are a comin'.
Basically I'll have the eg/h22 doing low 13s all motor on street tires and the luxurious EX coupe doing like 17s w/ a/c, power everything, sunroof.
Did I say I was excited?

I love my A/C and will put it back on once my car is on the road. I went to Florida last year and I couldnt imagine living there without A/C.

Jacksonville is a lot different than fort lauderdale. Not only that, but you must stink something fierce on hot days.

It is a inside joke (a mean joke, but a joke). Yeah, I heard women's deodorant works better, but I cant get myself to use it.

Funny thing is... nothing. If anyone looks like a child molester it is kenny. Kabir could probably pass for one, what with his constant drug induced twitching.
