Default Front disc brake dust shields, are they necessary?

If the front disc brake dust shields were removed...

would it provide better rotor cooling?
Could the rotors get warped when driving in the rain?
Do the aftermarket (Fastbrakes 11.75") kits even include new/larger shields?

theyre not necessary at all. only thing i can think of it doing is preventing an exploded cv boot from getting grease directly on the rotor.

your rotor will get wet in the rain no matter what.

i dont have them on mine with the 10.3" teg brakes and no problems yet. Thats a good question though. I dont believe any of the "big brake" kits come with the shields either but dont quote me on that

actually for my setup hot rotors are better for stopping than "cool" rotors

slam on brakes 2 or 3 times, now nice and hot, but it's not stock pads/rotor/lines/fluid
