ok i'm not too sure if it's the gas meter or there's something wrong with my gas tank.

whenever i fill up it doesn't seem to fill up all the way and when i try to fill it again it over flows and spills out. then i look at my gas meter and the damn thing only goes about 1/2 way!! i can't even get a full tank of gas! so what could be wrong?

 

what year car?
does the gauge just say that you have a half a tank, but the tank is full?
have you checked the fuses?

its the sending unit float in your tank i tried to get it recalled but not enough people complained i think happenes on alot of 5th gens. You have to get the float replaced or deal with it.

 

Did you happen to put white guage faces on your cluster? I did that and it caused a similiar problem with mine. I guess I was too rough or touched the needle enough to throw it off and it no longer worked right. A new cluster fixed it. Just throwing that out there....

nah it's not the guages because it was installed a year ago.


I'll look into the feul sending unit...how do i access it? can i change it myself?
