springs upside down?
in this picture:

you see the tightly wound coils on the bottom...now i purchased a set of eibach sportlines and kyb agxs that were already put together...i installed them and thought nothing of them...now the way the guy put the springs on is the opposite of the picture and the tightly wound coils are on top...what adverse affects can happen because of this...ive been driving like that for a year and didnt notice anything bad thus far...are they definatly on upside down?
thanks for any help...
i know i posted this in the suspension forum...but, yeah, they talk about omnipower and skunk2 **** a lot more it seems...

the only problem would be that the coils are not sitting right in the perch and top hat. cant say this is a HUGE deal, but not sometihng that would do more than poke a hole in the rubber inside the top hat, and possibly become unseated and clank a few times, but thats probably unlikely.
as long as the springs are sitting in the seat ok, its fine
the thing with progressive rate springs, is that the softer side will always compress first, regardless of orientation

If you have been driving like that for a year, and like the ride feel then I would say you could probably leave it and get away with it.

Look at the black spring, its actually upside down. But see the flatter part, well that sits at top, no biggy nothing to worry about. But you see how the coil ends at the bottom, this actually sits on a little notch, so the spring will not rotate. Now it probably could work both ways but that big part is suppose to be against the notch so the spring does not spin.
If your ride is not that terrible I would just leave it.

The flat part goes on top, That way the coil sits in the bottom perch correctly and can't rotate. If they were installed upside down they wouldn't even sit evenly with the strut rod coming out the middle, they would be really leaning to one side.

That's what I said, and usually the springs get smaller near the bottom making it almost impossible to put them on wrong, but depending on how big the top of the spring is, I can see someone putting it upside and having it look normal though, but it all depends on how big the spring is on the top. Or else like you said GreenBean, it would be coming out on the side.
Gator take pics of the ones on your car, mostly near the bottom.
