Ok, check it out.

The other night I was driving back on base when I noticed that my headlights were starting to dim and my radio was cutting out. I pull the car over, and check things out. Come to find out, Battery acid is spraying out of my battery caps. I assume the battery is bad, considering it is as old as the car, it was a good possibility. I went out last night an got a new battery from Advance. I put it in, things are good for a few minutes... until guess what, the new battery starts to spray acid. Now I'm pissed... My civic only has 62k miles, and its already starting to **** me off.

All connections are tight, battery dummy light not on.. (Need to hook a mulitmeter up...)

If anybody can help me out that would be great.

Battery is getting overcharged, alternator putting out 17-18v.

I'm guessing I need a new alternator now, on a car with 60k. WTF

 

there you go, my guess woulda been alt.

 

Anybody know what would cause a Honda alternator to go bad at 62k?

Feels like I'm driving a chevy again.
