Skunk2 camber kit - easily damaged?
I just had a skunk2 front camber kit put on my teg yesterday (i'm lowered 1.75"F; 1.5"R).
My mechanic said everythings perfect and handles great, but he was very adamant telling me to watchout for potholes and dips bigtime. He mentioned that aftermarket control arms aren't near as strong as the stock ones. -saying hitting a good pothole would knock everything out of line and I would be buying new parts.
obviously with a lowered car your going to watch out for potholes and whatnot, but has anyone experienced f'ing up their aftermarket camberkit from hitting mild potholes/dips?

the main thing to watch out for is slipping, the older skunk2 camberkit is notorious for it. skunk2 got most the bugs out with the new ones. Just make sure that the alen head brace screws are nice and tight and you should'nt have a problem with them slipping.
Slipping is the main issue. But as long as you make sure to get the allen screws tight you should be fine. If your really **** you could always lock tight the screws.
I have skunk2 camber on my civic and hit a pot hole and screwed up my alignment big time.....took to a local shop here and straighten everything out.....
thanks for the replys
sounds good. The guy does good work so I'm sure everythings tightened fine. I'm just checking to see if anyone has totally destroyed the arms or alignment by going over tiny potholes. I hate being paranoid going over every imperfection in the road when I drive.
Sounds like everything should be cool as long as you drive carefully as you would any other dropped ride.

i havent had any problems with my skunk2 camber kit so far. i have actually hit a spot in the road head on at about 50mph where the pavement was very uneven bc of construction they just started and there was a ledge about 3 inches high. it made a very loud noise and actually jolted my car to the side a little where i thought i was going to get into an accident. everything was fine though. i thought i'd at least have a flat tire or something, but nothing was wrong at all. just wanted to share my experience!

I have had my kit on my car (94 integra) for a little less than a year and i just ordered new ball joints from skunk2 for 39.95 plus shipping, cause both of my ball joints are F'd so i would say replacement ball joints dont last as long as OEM's
i think Skunk2 have newer Camber kit.basicly same type but more -/+ adjust. and yes i heard lots of people saying old s2 camber kits have problems.

i have the +/- 4 degrees one. i've hit some HUGE potholes, more like craters, and my camber stays right where i set it. and no ball joint blues, at least not yet. had them for a year, adjusting is easy, the little bolts take a pretty good amount of torque, and even with the sometimes hellish country roads out here, i've never ever had one budge on me. and as for overall strength, i'd say they're probably beefier than stock! they're thick and burly, and the welds are beautiful! they're heavier than stock, too. and as for those of you with lowered cars, if the control arm hits the fenderwell, well, it's metal bolts vs plastic fenderwell. metal basically always wins there. and if it's hitting the top of the (metal) fender, then you're probably way too low, and it's hurting your handling!
