Default Can the stock ITR pressure plate handle ~200whp ?

About to switch to an OEM ITR PP and plan on making about 190-200whp for daily driving and a few track days (2 per month) Will the stocker itr PP handle the n/a power ? Anyone done it or should I spend twice as much on an aftermarket unit ?

.....with what clutch disc?

If you're talking oem stock, I say no. Period.

Well... the disc I can get either a stock one (prefer not to), a carbon kevlar (hard to get for me), an aftermarket full face sprung disc OR a copper sprung disc.

Opinions on the disc welcome, but I was not looking at using a stock faced disc...I'm running a stock faced ITR disc now and it was slipping as early as 3000 miles after break-in.

I had a stock ITR clutch for about 7K miles with 200whp/140wtq then it died. I did get at least 30 passes on the clutch on slicks. Then I ran a ACT heavy duty PP with a full face disk and that worked much better. The pedal was a little stiffer but it wasn't overwhelming like some other pressure plates.

Completely stock clutch and 200whp... for a while but not if you plan on beating it up.

Ok... next question is whether the pressure plate is up to the task.... in other words... would simply upgrading the disc material and staying with the stock R pressure plate suffice ?

I don't think so.....that was my problem (not enough clamping force=fried disk)

Hmmm.... I'm at about 170 to wheel right now, so I think an ITR setup MIGHT work... but once I upgrade my cams... sounds like I'll be needing the upgrade the PP too.

Are most of you ACT fans running the HD PP ?

ACT HD-SS will be my next setup. Right now I have the ACT XT-SS and it's a but load to heal toe with on track,,, can be done but there is not much room for slipping it.

Overall I did like my ACT HD PP. It has a little bit of a stiffer feel in the pedal.

I had an extreme for a while and have a "buff" left calf muscle to prove it (way too stiff).

Well that crossed the XT off my list... it was my backup choice if the ITR PP wasn't gunna cut it.

For drag, don't count on it.

For track events at a road course, I prefer stock with aftermarket flywheel I've had 32k on mine with 3 road course events and 12+ 1/4 runs and it is holding up STRONG with plenty of life last time I checked it.

OEM should be fine for road course

Drag racing would kill it in short time

OK.

You will be fine, imo.

I have the original stock clutch and pp.

20+ drags
~15 track days
60,000 kms

For the last 10,000 kms, 4 track days, and all drags I was making 190 tq 250 hp
Last 2000 kms making 220 tq 300 hp, drivin HARD.

Clutch feels like it did the day I bought the car.

I can tell you from expereince, don't use the ITR clutch if you plan on running slicks with that kinda power....you will definetly fry that clutch. When the slicks bite the drivetrain takes all the abuse.
