ok, besides the 4-1 header, is there any other way to tell the differences between the two? Mainly I'm concerned with the tranny differences, tho. I know they are both stamped S80, but is there any way to tell which has the 4.7 final and which has the 4.4, without having to open it up?

.....are you talking about the motor or tranny?

The motor should have some stampings in circles on it - one of which has the year.....
