Default 93 civic Si cooling system problems

well... just thought id post a thread here... ive done some research... but figure id get some opinions anyways..

so 93 si civic.. d16z6.. all stock...
im losing coolant... i used to lose it from the water pump/rad... i replaced the hg cause my coolant was turning whitish (thought it was a leak from the hg..) replaced hg.. no more water pump leaks.. rad was fine for a while...

now im leaking from the bottom of the rad again.. (gay aluminum with plastic rails.. )
i know the rads fucked...

what i wanna know is if theres anything else im gonna have to fix.. i dont wanna replace the rad only for it to break too...

when running the car.. my fan like NEVER turns on... it seems like my car isnt letting the coolant flow through the block and rad..but the coolant in my block was white... and is not anymore... so im fairly sure its getting back to the rad and from the rad to the block..

my water pump does not leak through the weep holes anymore.. so im pretty sure the pressure in my system is fine...

sometimes the car leaks.. sometimes it does not.. seems random...

anywyas.. u guys think its just a rad?

if so anyone got a cheap rad they can sell me? heh dont wanna have to buy a $13 egay special.. (poooorrrrr i am)

anyways.. thanx in advance

from what I can see you aren't going to have to replace anything else just flush the cooling system before you replace the radiator

Yeah you shouldn't have to replace anything else. If you want to for sanity sake you can replace the thermostat and upper and lower radiator hoses, but if it ain't broke don't fix it, right?

ok how long does it take to flush the system?
when we replaced the headgasket... we drained the rad.. started up the car left it idling for a bit but the block wouldnt drain..
or is there somewhere on the block u gotta drain too?

There's a drain on the block itself. I think it's to the left and up from the oil filter on D-series blocks.

so the drain on the block is likely gonna be a bitch to get to?
heh cause we had a vaccum line that we had a bitch of a time getting back on right by the oil filter when replacing the hg... (this was with the car up on a hydraulic lift too
