What's this: '05 Si rear wheel-well innerliners?
If you have a '05 Si, did it come with a set of rear wheel-well innerliners? I'm not talking about the undercoated metal panels. Mine was delivered with a set of thick, high-qualilty felt-like grey innerliners. Stange. They conform perfectly to the metal panels. They also apparently were sprayed with some sort of water repellant.
I'm thinking these panals should have been removed as part of the PDI, but they are such a good fit, it's possible this is a new sound-deading "feature." I also have an '02 Si, and it wasn't delivered to me or the selling dealer with these innerliners, so this is definately something additional for the '05s.
If you have a new Si, how about walk outside and take a look inside your rear wheel-well and tell me what you find. Thanks.

Son-of-a-gun. Learned something new. Honda never fails to impress me with its attention to the detail and constant improvements over the life of a model.
Another thing I've noticed is that the '05 shifts easier than the '02. This may simply be a variation from one car to another rather than a mechanical change in the transmission's synchomesh, but it is noticeable nonetheless. I never experienced the mechanical problems others described on various webpages, but the '05 seems easier to drive smoothly, even when the transmission oil is cold.
Thanks for your responses re the innerliners.

There seems to be several things different from the first to last years. Wheels, head and tail lights, wheel well liner, even the keys are different. I'm very glad they listen to people to improve the cars! Thank you Soichiro Honda!
