Default Best Short Shifter if any.

What's up guys i was looking into a short shifter for my teg. the most expensive one i found was the TWM which goes for 122 bucks comes in 2 versions a 55% shorter throw plus 3" reduction in height and a 40% shorter throw with a 1.5 reduction in height. does anyone have this? is it worth the price? also what about b&m, skunk2 short shifters are those any good? and the stock shifter should i just keep that one? thanks also im getting the skunk2 shift **** they claim if i use their short shifter i would get a smoother shift?? idk.

I'm a fan of B&M when it comes to shifters. Fitment is perfect and it's rather beefy when compared to almost every other aftermarket shifter. Oh yeah, and it's cheap.

ebay ones are cheap... but that also means sacraficing quality. my homie bought two of these and they both snapped on him during his powershifting, with a CTR ****. i myself have a SKUNK2 dual bend short shifter. i love it. i also recommended it to him and he loved it. it sits somewhat like the stock shifter and you don't have to reach out for it like the B&M. (my other homie has a B&M, and his has no bend, so sorry to the B&M guys if there are any shifters that aren't straight, his was my only B&M comparison) plus with a JDM ITR ****, you can't go wrong. it's perfectand it feel good.

Yes, B&M makes an angled shifter similar to the Skunk2. Same price as the regular one.

Buy a B & M Short shifter and a weighthed skunk 2 or trust shift ****. Stay away from EBay ones they snap, a buddy of mine snapped his at the track and punched his hand through the dash. There are some angled ones out there to, but i think there just F'in retarded to use. IMO

i got a dc sports .short shifter and i love it. People on here will say dont get it they dont make good shifteres they tend to break and all that but i dont think so. i have had it on for over a year and half and nuthin wrong with it. if u think about it, its hard to snap any shifter if u shift normally since they are medal. if u shift like a maniac any shifter can break.

I'm going to have to disagree with that statement.

-Kendall, who would love to see anyone, absolutely anyone, try and break a B&M shifter

i got the evasive motorsports shifter for christmas, seems solid and throws are noticeably shorter. its certainly not the 'best' shifter out there, but it performs well. the skunk2 **** on top is a great combo.

On all the Integras I've had I chopped about an inch or 2 off the stock shifter and then rethreaded it. I don't like the idea of changing the geometry of the shifter with an aftermarket one. On my GSR I chopped it, put in ES black shifter bushings, and put on a Skunk2 shifter and it shifts awesome.

Hey, I too am a big fan of the B&M shifters. I have the standard Edge shifter in one of my cars and one of the Race versions in my other. The Race is adjustable throw/height. It's more expensive though.
I've had an STR Aluminum shifter actually BREAK in two while I was driving. DON't buy an alumium shifter! STR makes good stuff, but not that shifter!!!
I've used DC also and Neuspeed. Both were qretty good but more pricy than the B&M. I prefer the B&M. It's inexpensive and feels perfect. Good luck.

By the way, the Skunk2 **** is HEAVY! It's like 2-3 pounds! Totally unnecessary. Get the DC, B&M, or another Type-R style if you are looking for that look and feel.

Hey, a short shifter in an integra is the shaft or rod that is situated veritcally just under and attached to the shift ****. The "short" description is just that. Usually is is shorter in length, but the main benefit is that it is designed to make the actual shift from one gear to another shorter, making the time between shifts, between gears potentially shorter too. It's designed to help you shift quicker, therefore potentially accelerate quicker all else being equal. Hopefully that helps with your question.

I have a B&M Edge and the shifts are shorter than what I've experienced with other shifters. To remove the annoying rattle, I had to supplement it with extra washers and tighten it up more than usual. They start to come loose after 6-9 months, but I just simply tighten it down again to remedy that problem. B&M came out with an Edge shifter with a bend on it and that's something I'd definitely get if I could buy one again.

I've used the Skunk2 and it's not as short as the B&M, though the shifts feel almost as smooth as stock. I attribute this to the heavy Skunk2 shiftknob I used with it.

I prefer my stock ITR shifter because the shifts are pure butter and "short enough" for me.

I've got a dc sports shot throw and i love it, until i klled my stock clutch and slave cylinder today ripping through the gears. But to my defense this is my first 5spd car, only had it maybe 6 months. I figured i'd kill my first clutch....Oh well i had a centerforce dual friction put in today a long with new slave cylinder and had flywheel resurfaced, she'll be back tommorow...back on topic...How do you rethread a shifter and what do I need to do my dcsport cause the ******* i got it from cut 90% of the threads off trying to make it even shorter, So now during speed shifts the **** spins. It really sucks.HELP

I have a B&M and it is a high quality piece.

I have no experience, thus no comment, on the others... Aside from stock... Which wasn't as short... Duh...
