Default JUN or Rocket Motorsport Cams

On my B18c1 I want +200whp. I have Type R Pistons, Eagle Rods, Omni Power Valvetrain, Blow Manifold, Type R 4-1 and Type R TB. I was wondering what cams will give me the most power for $$ and also have the least aggressive idol (cant spell). What do you guys think?

Also if JUN III's were used do you have to use JUN valvetrain? Would Omni Power work?

Oh boy, where to start........

First off, people throw around the 200 whp as a benchmark, a goal that is "easily" reached. For one, your header will not get you that hp with those mods, the one thing you do have going for you is compression. Are you running usdm itr, jdm itr, or pct pistons? The Rm M22 vs. the jun 3 is a mystery....I personally went with the M22's. They are bigger than a Jun 3, but they may not idle as well as the Jun 3. The omni springs have light spring preasure, so I would determine how high you want to rev and make your decision from there. Another option you might think about is the Skunk 2 Pro 1's. Bottom line, the M22's WON'T let you down

M22's idle really well when you run the chip I provide. You can ask GeezerCoupe or carcala. Carcala just beat a Sub STI with his GSR/M22 Powered Integra, too . Most peeps also get really good gas mileage >30mpg.

I can also provide custom maps for JUN's as well.

We cam doctored several cams JUNIII's and another very similiar cam and the ramps were slower than the M22's. Although the ramps are aggressive the profile is still very smooth and has almost no valvetrain noise on springs with about 65lbs on the seat. I was shocked at how silent the cams were with softer springs.

AN-R makes a very nice header that fits your price range, but it is prone to cracking.

I would recommend the header from Edelbrock (yes, bring on the flames).

With the valve train I want to rev no more than 9500, so would omni power be sufficiant? Also where can I get an AN-R header cause I have searched yahoo like crazy and cant find one...

http://an-r.com/

Anr solved there "cracking" problem a LONG time ago......thats old news........

Omni's with M22's MIGHT be ok, Omni's with Jun 3's would work fine as they are smaller than the M22's..

Can I still run a/c with the an-r? And what is the difference between the merge and street collector? Also I'm assuming that the merge collector is for race only?

If you want to run ac then I would personally buy the Toda. It mkaes great power in almost any motor, and will clear all ac/radiator and give excellent ground clearence.

i think weapon-r's will fit with a/c....they put out nice numbers for a $500 piece....but have also heard horror stories of them cracking as well....

smsp headers rock. heres a dyno vs. a PORTED ITR header with JUN 2 cams...it's on a mild-2liter set up, but just a general idea of how much more air passes through it.

If you're complaining about a Toda costing 1k, then how do you think you're gonna do an sms? Also, you don't necesarily have to buy a header new, you can find used ones quite often...

I think Hookups headers are pretty affordable and seem to fit with A/C. Not sure, you might wanna IM HOOKUPS

rocket,

maybe it's nice if you gave some detailed spec on your cams.

the duration on your site, is that advertised duration? when and when the answer is yes how much duration would they provide with the right amount of V/C???

the lift, is it cam lift or valve lift, and if it is cam lift what would be the valve lift with the recommended v/c???

how much duration/lift does the primary and secundairy lobe have??

i'd like to know this for the
M22 /284 /12.1 /284 /12.1
M24E /303 /12.7 /303 /12.7
M24X /298 /12.7 /305 /12.1
M25 /310 /12.1 /310 /12.1
M25E /316 /13.25 /216? /13.25
