Default Is it possible to remove the 2 bolts from the 3rd brake light?

I noticed on some of the pre-owned Integras I've looked at (94-97 LS), some of them which had the rear spoiler installed (oem Acura one), that they were able to remove the original 3rd brake light which was located on the hatch glass when they installed the spoiler. However there are always these 2 slighly ugly bolts which are left behind. They extend from the hatch glass towards the interior of the car, and apparently were used to mount the original 3rd brake light onto the glass.

It doesn't seem likely, but I was wondering if anyone knew a way to remove these bolts successfully? They are about 14mm or larger in diameter, and extend approximately 2-3 inches from the glass.

In the back of my mind, I'm guessing that the only true answer will be to change out the glass or just live with the bolts being there.

Of course, Ive seen a few Integras which don't have traces of the 3rd brake light, so most likely these ones came from the factory this way, and weren't ordered after delivery like the ones I keep finding.

Thanks for any responses!

Sure its possible. You would have water in the hatch too! Unless you can plug them some other asthetically pleasing way, then you are SOL!

Haha, thanks Chris.
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing -- maybe yank the bolts VERY carefully and fill the resulting holes with some sort of grommet or glass fix sealant?
Bah, I guess I'll have to live with my 2 bolts a la Frankenstein

Thanks for the response,

I plugged my Wiper hole....

maybe you should take one out and measure it, head to the local Home Depot and see if they have a rubber grommet that will fit...

Those are the GSRs. They have no 3rd brake light cuz the spoileer is stock n all.
Ive got a spoiler w/a light there and the 3rd brake light is disconnected so its pretty much a dumymy too.
