OBX LSD Install Trouble
installing the obx lsd, the new unit seems to sit about 1mm higher than the stock diff. not too big of a problem at first, but when the casing was tightened, it binds. Anyone know what the problem may be? anyone else installed one of these in a crx?
And please, only helpful info... i dont need comments like "thats what you get for buying obx, or obx sucks" their customer service has continuously fucked me and i need the help of people who actually know their **** (H-T)

i don't know exactly where you're talking about but try griding away some from where it's binding...hopefully the few that have done this will chime in.

Can't tell 100%, but it feels like the actual ring gear is binding on the casing.</TD></TR></TABLE>pull it out and see f its hitting?

Fitment:
Honda Civic / CRX SI and EX (using 40mm bearings only)
I saw this in the OBX ad, does that have anything to do with it?

Its OBX yo!!!
Ive heard of many complaints about them making **** such as headers, IM and not fitting unless you make some custom **** to make it fit. Get a refund. In this case it might be false advertisment and only fit 92-00 trannys. Also complaints such as headers craking. Dont think you want that in your tranny.

yeah, interesting.
40mm bearing tranny (89 ZC equals 89 SI casing) is what we have. But 40mm bearings were gone by 92, so in saying that this part is to be used with 40mm bearings in say 97 tranny, they are wrong.
What of what they say is true? Hmmm...

I may be incorrect but I believe that 88-89 had a 38mm? bearing and 90-91 had a 40mm? the 92+ I don't know about the size but I'm pretty sure it isn't interchangeable with the older ones.
si trannys are only 100 bucks usually and only the differentials are differnt in 88-91. So buy one that is the correct differential size. Here is what obx site says
88-00 Honda Civic CRX Si / EX models, except 90–91 Si 40mm bearings
Hope that helps.

Yeah, there is two ways to read that information, neither of the sellers wrote it cristally clear, really.
OBX is of no help so far, since they never returned my call to clear out the application.
