Yeah in the 5th gen prelude there is like a small clear glass windowthat like covers up 25% of the cupholder area. Why is this here? Ive seen pics of the JDM prelude where there is like a sort of rubber carpet that covers up the whole cup holder area but I still dont get it why this glass window is here. Someone come up with a reasonable explanation.

mine had the rubber matt on there.

no clue why that **** is there. seems all it does is let spilled substances fall through

however its good to run wires through for various switches

Oh, 5th gen. nvm. Maybe on the JDM prelude they have some rubber thing so when you try to cram something retarded like a slurpee (which NEVER fits in ANY cup holder) you can take the cup holder out and put it in there and not worry about spills? If so, I need one of those. I can't get big slurpee anymore because the cup holder is too damn small.

we must find an answer to this odd Honda prelude perplexity, it even comes w/ a little plastic protective sheet to keep the plastic from getting scratched.

Window? I have never seen this window thing. Mine has the rubber mat
with the grate/vent below it. The rubber mat gets gross and sticky sometimes
and I have no clue what the holes could be for, no air gets through so it couldnt
be ventilation, maybe in case you spill your entire slurppy into the cupholder?

People!

That vent thing is for a JDM air freshener. You just peel the plastic off, insert JDM air plug freshener (fits perfectly). Then turn on your AC/heat. Air will come through the vent, then through the JDM freshener.

It's a cool feature!

If you want to buy the JDM air freshener, check out this link:

i have a theory: the tunnel can get pretty warm while driving, maybe the clear plastic allows more heat through than the thicker black plastic, thereby keeping a warm beverage warm.

Oh wow, that's excellent . . . How did I not know about this?

Just checked mine - there's a little opening, but it's definitely not a "window" - no plexiglass or anything like that. Is there really airflow through there?

i got the part number for the little black mat! lol.

it just says "cup holder film" for that little clear window. i have no fookin idea what its for eaither. does it really matter? does that little clear peice of plastic hidden under your cupholder thing prevent you from doing your job because you cant help but stop and think why in the **** did honda put it there ?

ah well
