Better than stock ride quality? caddilac style
I drive a 1996 Civic EX (but it's an EK on this board) and the suspension I just know could be better. I'm not into getting better cornering/handling or even dropping it to the ground. I am interested in a ride quality that is superior to stock. All I find are lowering springs, fake coilovers, real coilovers, and adjustable shock/struts. I'm sure after 150k the springs and shocks/struts are kind of pissed off anyways, but I am seriously interested in just making the ride incredible and smooth. If I have to drop it an inch or so, I can live with it. The only think I've really found that was sort of interested in were Tokico Illumina Coilovers and they can have a 0.25 drop or 0.5 or something very small like that, but I don't know anything about the spring rates and I don't think the Illumina Coilovers have caught on yet. So if you either know anything about the coilovers or just an incredible ride and how I might go about doing it, please say so. Thanks!
'96-00 EX stock spring rates are supposedly 165f/80r according to ClubSi's list of rates. Nothing in the aftermarket is as soft as or softer than this. Nothing with a lower ride height than stock will be anywhere close to this. Eibach makes ERS as soft as 100 lbs-in, but nothing softer from what I can find.
Your best bet is to stick with stock suspension. It's the best combination of spring rate, ride height, and damping that Honda could come up with.

Dude if you want a caddilac ride get a caddilac. The civic is a corner carving car heck even stock it handles great. Almost every suspension out there will stiffen the ride a bit.
