Default DIY Mugen/HKS Style Exhaust

All the exhaust systems I have seen out for the CRX have been pretty trashy looking IMO. The only one that seemed pretty damn sexy to me was the HKS or Mugen exhaust, nothing too flashy to catch anyone's attention. Well I can't afford one and you probably couldn't either

So I decided to build one with my bro.
1st off, my exhaust was a Bosal which is maddd ugly but pretty nice sounding and throaty. You can pick one up from their website for around 300-400 bucks, or go to a junkyard.

So me and my bro go searching around for a Y pipe at the pep boys and picked up the last one in stock . This would convert my single tip to a dual. Next off was finding the perfect tip, Ideally 2 99 Civic Si or RSX tips. Picked some up from Honda.

Next went home and cut off my tip and welded the Y pipe on and made sure everything was aligned good. Good. Then it was just a matter of screwing on the RSX tips to the Y pipe. The results were pretty butter. Check out the pics.
Tell me what ya think. WARNING (welds are not pro). Thanks to my brother.

not too shabby. althought eh hks can be had for about 450 shipped.

the over all outer view is pretty nice. however you or your bro need to take a welding class at your local community college to hone those skills...alot.

haha, thanks for the props, I know welds suck but it Works! The diameter of the Y Pipe is 2.5, I slid that right over my 2.25 exhaust and tacked it. Was a pretty tight fit and no air leaks whatsoever, not that that matters much. Sounds Fresh!

my friend who worked there kinda just handed em to me. I'm pretty sure you can find em at junkyards. Or even prelude/accord tips will work well.

who cares, they're exhaust welds; as long as they hold up.

No one's going to crawl under your car and inspect the exhaust welds ... I hope

I took my comment about welds off cuz welding is hella hard at first.

Cool setup. Depending on what your bank account looks like the Greddy SP2 exhaust is pretty sweet! Side mount muffler, tig welded, all of that goodness, and NO weird ugly flashy tip. I have it on my car, and totally love it. Amazing sound, and looks! But anyways, back to topic: Good job
