anybody dealt with JG Engine Dynamics blocks?
a friend of mine is looking at buying a block that has been sleeved and had their cylinder brace welded in. anybody ever dealt with one of these blocks? i've never seen this done to a block before and was curious if anyone thought there would be related problems. and for that matter, anybody know what sleeves jg uses and whether or not they do reputable work.
refer to jg's website if anybody needs a pic. http://www.jgenginedynamics.com

I have not dealt with them directly, but I have heard of a lot of sleeves sinking. They usually make it right, but it seems like such a hassle. Search around, there are many VERY GOOD companys on here that sleeve blocks.
thanks, after posting the question i've continued searching and found much the same. lots of bad and not much good. seems the company has a great deal of unhappy customers, but also, it's always the unhappy ones that post.
it's that welded in block guard that is curious to me. i've never seen that done, anyone know if it's beneficial?

From what I hear, the block guard should be welded in. Everyone says that if you are going to run a blockguard, then bring it and the block to a machine shop and have them weld it in.
