Get a service manual and not the haynes or chiltons. That is the best modification I ever did to my car. It has helped me out numerous times.

it was actually prity easy to do in my 88 crx w/ b18b just take all bolts off tranny including the starters and dont forget to take off flywheel guard under the tranny cuz that sucks if you forget to take it off and you sittin there trying to take the tranny down and it wont com all the way off but i did it in my driveway and it took 3 hrs and that was by myself accept when i needed to get the new tranny on the input shaft it definatly helps if there is 2 people for the job

you probably need two people to help you bring down the tranny
my brother and I used jack(not sure how many tons) to bring down the engine and long chains to hold the engine and attach it to a long steel bar(ours was taken for the bed frame)

then get a manual and then read and review first before diving in

If its your first time doing it by your self and with no Mechanics experience it will be difficult maybe 9 out of 10 on a hard level for a beginer. you have to remove your engine and tranny. . Dont feel bad if you dont get any replies people here would either tell you to search or be Dickks about it. i really think people who are rude reply stupid remarks should either be banned or have a percentage removed from them.

dont listen to anyone else that says you need to drop the engine along with it. Although it is easier with engine/trans out of the car. Just undo all of the trans bolts and shake away. Make sure and drain the trans fluid before you do all of this. It would be a good idea to change the fluid and put some new fluid in Then, its all pretty self explanatory from there. You will also need a clutch alignment tool. You need to take off the pressure plate as well, just loosen the bolts - you will see once you get the trans off how everything comes apart.

yo yo yo crxh22.....you are putting down people here who are trying to help and as for stupid remarks i have never heard the one you just made remove the engine?????..
i don't mean to isult your ability but that is bull crap,,,,,tranny is a piece of cake to remove on those ...
draining the oil is a good idea cause after you remove the axles and try to pull tranny out of car the oil will come out of the axle holes and get all over you and then of course put new oil 10w30 ///
like someone said you just got to look at whole treanny and see what is in the way....

starte, speedo, axles, mounts, all the bolts around the tranny ,do evrything from the top and then finish it from underneath ..
if you buy non factory clutch kit the alignment tool comes with it, make sure you have your flywheel resurfaced and if rear main seal looks wet replace as well

I followed this site when I did mine. Just ignore the stuff about the hydro clutch for the EF's.
