I wouldn't remove power steering to save that extra 15 or so lbs cuz the power steering pump helps to lubricate your steering rack and without it...your steering rack will wear out after a few years. Also, IMO i dont think the extra weight savings of A/C is worth removing it because it's just very impractical not to have A/C. I wouldn't wanna roll my windows down on a rainy night just to defog my windshield when i can just turn my A/C on....just my .02

get a ps kit from padawa so you can remove your power steering, keep it lubricated, look good too

dude my friend dropped the power steering in his teg, and the power difference was actually noticeable. it was a great idea, unless you're trying to park, but the rest of the time it's well worth it.

So the only thing he did was take out his power steering in his teg and you felt an actual performance gain?? You and your friend must be incredibly sensitive to be able to feel what would translate into prolly 1/100 of a second difference in accel. times. (prolly all physchological)

um ac and PS rob about 15hp when their on. That's like having a intake and exhaust. you don't have to be sensitive. Also I would recommend removing the Ps it's very dangerious when you pass 110mph. You car will be shifting 3 lanes with the touch to the steering wheel.

I dont know about ps but when the ac is on in my ls my car feels like ****. Its slow as **** and throttle response is just retardedly slow. I cant bare to drive with the ac on. THe difference w/ ac on and off is a HUGE feeling difference, i dont know what mod that would be compared to though.

Umm first of all...it's true that AC is a big power robber but the key here is "when their on" IF you want to race someone or go fast....just turn your AC OFF, simple as that. Also, I can't really see how you say that power steering is a big robber of power to? Hmm...I wonder what the horsepower loss from power steering when you're going in a straight line??? It prolly equals out to less than 1whp. Power steering really only robs you of horsepower when you're turning the car cuz that's when the steering pump actually needs needs power. Oh...and if you can get 15 hp from just intake an exhaust....the world would be a better place

i agree bro very good points....... man do not remove the a/c its not worth it... u cant defog ur windows in the rain without it and u lower the value of ur car. if u sell it privately people will get suspicious too. i just dont think its worth it.

we didn't even take it out, we just cut the belt, and we went from being dead even with my friend's crx to a noticeable pull on him. i dunno how sensitive we are, but it was a big difference in pull between the two cars, but that 1/100 of a second you talk about is a lot i guess. from dead even to like over a car legnth difference. in a world of power to weight, i figured you'd want that extra few hp. all i know is it works!!

we cut the belt that ran to it. it's probably not good for it, but it sure worked

The only vehicle I have ever owned with power steering and a/c is my 2000 durango. I dont think it would be very drivable without power steering. Also, I have never seen this 'power steering removal kit'. Where is this at, I would like to see what exactly it involves. I usually take the last hardline left, cut it, reflare it with the nut on, and loop it back to itself. Is this what the removal kit is.

Edit-When I say undrivable up above, I mean the durango, not the teg. It is cool without it. If you want to change your rack, maybe one out of a civic hatch, without power steering, will bolt up? Our motors work in there cars, maybe their racks work in ours?

F*ck t3h power steering................I took mine out 6 months ago with padawans steering removal kit, and it is the best mod buck for buck that I have ever done to the car. More power, and bettercontrol.... also dynos have shown that the power steering pulley robs between 3-5 hp from a car, though it has been seen up to 7 hp.

Finally, the AC DOES rob power when it is off because the crank is still turning the condenser wheel..........but here in the northeast the temps get into the high 90s in the summer so Im not so sure about removing this..........

Look up user name padawan. He sells a nice kit. I jsut put mine on last weekeknd. Also do a search for PS removal. Just yesterday i saw a good write up on installing the kit.

I too have seen these dynos on this board. Remember it is not adding any HP, it is just freeing up HP. If you are going to remove both the AC and PS go ahead and get the NI crank pulley. You will save 5lbs and it will underdrive the alternator. While 5lbs does not seem a lot it is a hugh ammount when you figure that is rotational weight also

The only thing with after market crank puleys is that they dont have harmonic dampeners....There have bee heated discussion on here btween peopl who say that it is not needed, and others who say that without it..the lightened crank pulley destroys your crankshaft and journals....

What is T3h truth !!!!!!!!

My integra is the first car I've had with working AC and it blows a nice chilly 40 degrees, I had a mk2 jetta and a tsi talon with ac and it sucked.

Call me spoiled but when its hot as ***** out the leather and a/c feels awsome

Now I am talking about the honda N1 puley. I thought that kept the dampner inplace. But the after market alloy things you see on e-bay get rid of it
