GOD DAMNIT! possibly scammed? bullshitt!!! no56k :(
AS many of you have seen, i have started stripping and polishing 1996 type r wheels for my prelude. I have done each 1, individually and i have spent a lot of time on the three i have done (apx 15-20 hours). Upon opening hte 4th and final rim, i examined it and i didn't have to look hard to see a GIANT gash taken out of it. THe seller (benbuilt4u) through H-t had informed me that there was a "slight curb about 2" long" It is around 3-4" and it is not slight at all. Its bent a little bit and im not sure it will hold air!! I was going to polish the lips up nice as i have done on three of them, but now i dont think i can !!!

Any way to fix this? could i hammer it out alittle and then JB weld? someone please help?

wow that will be hard to repair since it looks like a good chunk of metal is missing. its hard to say if you were scammed or not since different people describe damage differently (although in this case you can clearly see its far from 'slight'). this is why you always get pics first! good luck with the repair
that rim is 100% repairable and by no means did i mean to scam anyone. **** i sold over 300 items on here and this is the first problem ive had. you need a wheel refinisher to tig weld the missing metal straighten and smooth usaully costs 90-110 dollars.
good company is transwheel or ye old wheel in jessup maryland
when i measured it i did not count the scratchs only the bent part

Right but when selling it did you ever mention it as a bend? When someone tells me one is "curbed" I understand that the wheel is still true and round, with finish damage.
In my honest opinion if there was a miscommunication and this was not properly conveyed then the buyer is entitled back a portion of the repair costs.

And DarkBB4 I had a cracked wheel, I sent it to Stockton Wheel in stockton, ca
for 100 they straightened it welded it and refinished it. Yours would most likely be cheaper but check them out if you can.

Im not looking for revenge or calling anyone out.. I know he is a good seller, and i guess it was bad communication but stuff like this should never happen.
When i bought the rim, i was expecting decent condtiion wheels. He said they weren't perfect with paint chips and etc. When i opend the frirst two i was pleased and i received exactly waht i paid for.. then as i got to the last box, i realizd that somethign was up... I was looking for a 2" curb (or so) and i would be able to file that down alittle to make it less noticeable, and finish the rims.. but now i have to send it away toa machine shop or whatever. Shipping is gonna be expensive as hell, let alone the fixing process. Then shipping it back. On top of that i wanted this all done in a few weeks for spring photoshoot (mike g
) but i might have to wait now

good luck in your persuit though, if he told it was damaged, it is going to be harder to go after him. good luck.</TD></TR></TABLE>
that depends, if he said it was a curb or a bend. theres a difference.
