I'm planning on painting my front lip and rear valances on my teg. The front lip is white and the rear valances are Cayenne Red. I was just wondering how many spray paint cans i need of primer, paint and clearcoat. And i will be painting them vogue silver metallic.

I also have some questions about the process. Is it alright to sand it down with 400 then prime with a couple coats. After that wetsand with 1000 grit, and them put on a couple coats of paint, and wetsand again with the 100 grit and then put on a few coats of clear. Does that sound about right.

back in the days, I just sand it down with 600 sandpaper, washed it dryed it, spray over the old color. It actually comes out more shiny than the primer but you gotta get it real clean or it will bubble up or drip. I learned primer should be used on items that has been worked on: Bondo.Bare metal etc.... You can primer it but then you gotta sand it and repeat the process. good luck
