Do you believe that it is ok to make a show car. I mean there are a lot of people who are more into the show scene than performance. Personally I am into performance and JDM. But do you think it is ok to make a car with body kits on it and expensive wheels and colored matching interior? In a way building a show car is fun. Just post your opinions.

 

i like show cars and going to the shows are fun......somethings people do to show cars makes me wonder but its thier car so i could care less just as long as it looks clean.....but i like having a nice looking car that will go when i need it to on the track......so i like the best of both worlds

 

the thing that annoys me about import show cars is that the abundance of import show car guys seem to think they need to change each and every single part and piece on the car to something different......and it just ends up looking way too god damn cluttered up...even crazy body kits and crazy paint jobs can look good on show cars if done in taste and not overdone.....problem is most import guys have no taste and everything is overdone or not done properly....

 

Yeah i agree totally, DIfferent headlights here, swapped tailights, u name it, they change it, not realizing that their car was probably better looking b4 they even did this...Sometimes less is more

 

if i was a millionaire yea id build a show car.

 

show cars are for guys that are just getting in the scene or that just dont have the money or the know-how to put into a car to make it fast, most show cars at your AVERAGE shows didn't really cost that much to build, I bet I got more money in my block them some of those guys got in their whole car......if thats a good thing or not I still not sure but I do like to go fast. show cars

 

Show cars not expensive to build? I really need to get some pictures of cars in my club. A couple have over $15,000 invested into the show car, not counting the car itself. I guess you can say that people who bolt on everything APC and think they have a show car are going cheap. However, when you get into color changes, body mods, full custom interior, plus engine mods, you can spen a hell of a lot more on show cars then you do on "race" cars. I guess you just need to visit real shows and not little 50 car local shows.

Personally, I love show cars. Real Show Cars. I see nothing wrong with building them. Hell, I show my car, and have a BLAST doing it.

Is my car a show car? My car is pretty fast (I've spent a lot of time on my motor), as well as my suspension. I have also put in a lot of work on my cars appearance, and I have put my car in a few shows. For me, I'd rather see a super clean car that is somewhat fast, then a POS car that is super fast. JMO

whats with your wheels in the last pic? no rims...

 

my tires on my spoons were too bald. I was afraid I wouldn't pass inspection at the track, so I put on two rims that no one would be caught dead with on their car, except me.

 

gotcha, ii started a topic about what is up with cars with 2 non matching rims ...well actually steelies... so don't think I was flaming just don't understand the phenomenon, the car behind you also has the 2 rim look...
I think your car is sweet personally just thought the mismatched rims were odd.

 

i show my car at drag events if there is a show option....... only for the safe parking (i'll pay the extra $$ to reduce the chance of my car being I'm gayed with)

how true is that. the good thing about entering your car in the show is it totally pays for itself. no paying for parking, you get all sorts of goodies and you get a friend in for free (basically free). I'd just enter my car because I'm a cheap ***.

At Fontana. Inspections not tough, but for my own safety I didn't want to run on bald tires with steel showing through.

 

SHOW cars = nice,
GO cars = very nice
STOCK cars = the best

 

First all the money I have goes to the motor! Performance is key! But you gotta have some looks to pick up the ladys.
