heee hee...in a few years i'll be in the same boat, it'll probobly be traded by whatever the next gen is at that time though. Payments really arnt all that bad, car is much cheaper than i think its worth, i seriously think this car is worth $40,000-$50,000 easy, and i think Honda could have got it too had they marketed it that from the beginning, sales would have been much smaller, but the car atleast to me is certainly worth it (i mean hell...if they can get $50K for a BMW Z4 3.0i, the way this thing romps on them, i see them just as worthy of such a pricetag)...thankfully, Honda is not only great at building cars, but also hit a homerun with the $30K pricetag new.

wow... I see what you're saying, but are you serious? Honda would've sold just as many S2000 as their NSX if they priced S2K above $40k. Their sale is down with each passing year on the S2k. I'm actually surprised that they don't lower the price of the car or discontinue the model.
S2k is a great car, but it's not a $40k car by a long shot.

Yes...i am very serious. I never said SALES would be good...honestly we dont have a clue how sales would be, you cant really view it in terms of the NSX's sales because given the NSX's performance and its price tag of near $100,000...its a little different situation.
I was talking about the car's worth...as in build quality, features, performance and overall feel. Your talking about a handbuilt sports roadster, spec's that are very unique and intriguing as far as power goes (low torque but quick acceleration #'s), incredible handling characteristics. I think the car is WORTH what you'd pay for the BMW Z4...i think the car is EASILY worth $40,000-$50,000.
Would they sell a bunch? Surely not as many as they have, but i dont think it would suffer the same low sales as the NSX does. But im not talking sales, im talking worth, and yes, i think its well worth what i said.

I agree and also disagree. When the S2000 first came out, it was worth its 30k sticker. The problem nowadays is you can buy two cars that outperform the S in every way (performance wise) for the same price, namely the STI and EVO. In actuality the S2000 has a higher sticker price than both. This is from a performance aspect. Now it terms of looks, our car wins hands down. I guess it still comes down to what you want and need
But in that...they arnt really "Sports Cars" in the view of what people see as a sports car. 4-door sedans with awd systems and turbo's, their more extremely fast ralley bred family cars, where as the S2000, being a 2 seater, roadster design with performance #'s that are VERY respectible, and down right incredible out of such a small engine, those cars to me are like the SRT-4, their like the epitome of what the tuning world wants, lots of torque and horsepower and turbo's and RAWR big ***** and stuf...bleh.
S2000 i guess just feels like a more mature car...

The S2000 is more of a mature car. Problem is the 00-01's are cheap enough for teen's to own. This will make it look bad in the next couple yrs. I know our cars are great. Its on par, if not better, than a Boxster S (not new one) which is twice the cost of our car. It also outdoes the Z4 which is 45-50k. You rarely ever see a teen driving those cars unless their parents buy it for them.
You're correct in saying that it's a more mature car and I can definitely see more and more teens trying to pick up S' within the next few years but with that you'll also see a lot more totalled s2ks. I think the one thing that will save our cars from a tainted rep in the future is insurance prices for teenagers.
Come to think of it, I'm going to start a driving school right now and make millions.. because as kids die in s2000's... more of them will want to learn how to drive it.. who's coming with me? who's comin' with me?
