sound from right front of car?
ok hear is the deal this just started last week, it is when i am driving its kinda high pitched and raspy. I am getting ready to replace ball joints tie rod ends and bushings starting this weekend. I am not sure if its the wheel barieng or cv joint. the car is a 90 crx si with b16a. I jacked the car up lastnight and spun the wheels and heard nothing so iam guessing it has to be under a load for it to produce the sound. any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
wheel bearings usually whine. not sure if its that or not, but if it isn't too much more troulble for you to replace them why not try that.
is it only at high speed or all the time? has it been getting worse?

I was thinking that too but whanted to make sure before replacing them someone told me it might be the cv joint but I thought thay only make sounds when you are turning and not in a strieght line.

If its a whine or hum it will be the wheel bearing.....if its a clicking sound its your axle
also if its your wheel bearing when ur go around s bends it will go away when u turn one way but it will get louder the other way

Check and make sure none of your brake pad clips are rubbing your rotor? Only thing I could think of that would make a raspy AND whiny sound under different conditions.
quick update put the car on jack stands and put it in 1st gear the car makes no sounds what so ever. Checked the boots on the axles they are fine it only makes the sound if it is on the ground when i drive. I am baffled any other thoughts on what it could be.
thanks to all that have helped so far.
