Default Just installed Koni Yellows and GC need help?!?!?

I kind of need help just for assurance. I just installed my Koni yellows and ground control coil overs last night. I have 400lb rear 8" springs approx. 350lb 8" fronts and 1.25" extended strut top in the front.

I currently have the konis set to the 4th notch down on the front strut itself. I had to actually pry the springs up to releive some tension from them to adjust the car higher and it still isnt high enough. My main concern is if it will be detrimental to my handling or the function of the strut/spring if I have to preload it so much, because in order to get it high enough to drive I will have to actually compress the spring quite a bit and move the seat up a notch or 2. Does anyone have any advice or ideas? and is this just normal circumstance for extended top hat use? TIA.

I don't understand. If it's too low then why did you put it on the 4th notch down? Put it on the first notch. Then lower your GC spring perch all the way. Then assemble the shock/spring/hat combo. If you have to compress the spring to get it assembled - no big deal.

I have 8" 400lbs/in front springs on my 94cx & I don't have to preload the shock at all. Do you have a CRX? I know they have very little shock stroke, and that will make it pretty difficult to get a near stock ride height. You may have to rent a spring compressor to get the preload you need, but that is gonna be a reall pain in the ***. You may have to take the whole shock assembly off just to adjust ride height...

It sounds like your extended top hats may need to be removed to free up some shock stroke. GC's add only .75" and you have .5" more than that.

No it is an EG. I have spring compressors at my house, I just wanted to make sure that compressing a naturally lower spring that much wouldnt be a bad thing. I put it on the 4th notch just being stupid and thinking backwards late at night. It was a long day . Thanks guys.

Yeah, when I did mine for my late integra, I lowered the spring perch, and noticed how low everything would be if I used it that way, and put it back to the stock setting how Koni shipped them and everthing was perfect then.
