Default TURBO INTAKE

I have a turboed GSR and im having problems adding a 3 inch intake pipe off the turbo. The pipe hits the part on my block that tells the engine code. (B18C1). Do I have to cut that off to put an intake on it? I dont want to, but how else can I do it? Has anyone ever had this problem? For the record, it's a turbonetics kit.

Get a curved intake pipe or use some dryer hose.

curved intake pipe, maybe. if you can find one. dryer hose will not hold up to the underhood temperature i am afraid. if you can, remove the pipe and take it to a machine shop and have them dimple the pipe where it needs to be dimpled. it should not hurt flow at all on a 3 inch pipe. another solution would either be grnding down the block where i needs to be. (moght not be te brightest idea, hondas don't put extra metal anywhere on thier cars) or cut the pipe in 2 places and put in a piece of reinforced silicone and clamp the **** out of that thing. i would reccomend some stuff called gaskaginch to tack the hose to the pipe under the clamps. we use that stuff on turbo diesels that run 20-35 pounds of boost with no problems. if the pipe is clean it really helps keep it in place. silicone also will damp out any vibrations.

what's dryer hose? You mean like a silicone hose by the "****" that sticks out and then throw on a pipe?

dryer hose is the stuff that vents your clothes dryer to the outside of your house. dont use it. yeah. that si what i mean by using silicone hose. its not cheap but that turbo is gonna get so damn hot even on the intake side when you shut off the motor that you need silicone. it will take the heat. no problems.

If it were me, I'd just put a really big velocity stack on the inlet.

yes, they are hooked directly to the exhaust manifold. exhaust is what runs the turbo. when the car is shut off the cool air is no longer coming in to cool the inlet. heat soak occurs. it will get the whole thing up to 450-500+ degrees for a few minutes. dryers top out about 220.
