hey guys- quick question. i have a 94 black Honda del Sol and want to get the side windows and the rear window tinted (i know it's illegal to get the sides tinted in Illinois, but i'm willing to take the chance cuz i'm getting a good deal on the tint). i just don't know how dark to get the tint. i don't want it to be pitch black because i'm afraid my car will look too dark and i'm not all about the 100% black look. any pics of black cars with tint would be great. thanks.

 

% is the cleanest if used all around, just dark enough, i never get harrassed....trust me

i have a black teg, and i did 35% on the front 2 windows. and 10% on the side and hatch... i think 35% is fine, im from socal, and the cops havent pulled me in 4 months...

 

i would look at what the laws are and then go either at the limit or a few shades darker if the legal limit is very light

I got 22% all around on my black prelude....that looks good. And to everyone who wants to know...I am in the mafia! Just be smart and roll down your windows when the jo jo's are around...ive yet to get a ticket.

seriously i'd say look at the laws

 

I have 5% all around and a strip across the top of windshield (not to big though). I passed inspection in AZ legally with it!! In Utah I had to "pay off" the inspector to pass it cost me only 30 more $ but now I'm in Seattle and I don't know what the laws are here so I hope I meet someone around here that has a "connection".

btw: here in seattle I been next to many a cop and what not and never had any problems whatsoever. I also don't have a riced out ride and I'm a very nice dressed white boy. Unfortunately that does help around here but doesn't say much for enforcement.

I have 35% on my front windows 29% on the sunroof and 7% on the back three windows. If and when I do it over Ill have it done with 29% on the front and side windows and 7% on the back. Real dark tint looks tacky.

Everyone has there own tastes, nobody's is any better than anybody else's. Since you are the one paying for it, then your oppinion is the only one that matters. Personally the only places I have seen tinted cars are at highschool parties and seized drug dealer cars at the police auction. But if you have to get tint then go with the lightest shade, cheers

 

I'd go double limo tint. It makes your windows look like they are painted black.

the color of your interior is what matters. dark interior will make a medium tint look darker than it actually is.
