Default d series longer gear tranny?

i was wondering if a trans with a longer gear ratio would b better for my d16y8 turbo set up?

Gearing for turbocharged cars is heavily opinionated subject matter. I personally think you'd be better off with the Y8 tranny.

the civic hatchback STD model with the four speed trans has long gears.

try the hf tranny....its got long gears for sure.
and its five speed, if you arent all about the 4 speed std. tranny

You should try a tranny from a VX...

The gears are soooo long!

As an example, in my VX 70mph + 3rd gear = 3500RPMs

70mph + 5th gear = 2000RPMs...

I think you could go about 95 in 3rd without hitting the redline

Don't know if it would be good for a turbo application, but those are about the longest gears you are going to get...
