Default 5 speed swap vs sell the car

im at a loss here. i love my car, but its an auto and i want boost.

now what i am thinking of is getting another integra or an EG hatch. but with the EG i would be putting the same motor i already have for boost. (and the tranny would be swapped anyway.)

should i just save myself a world of trouble and just swap in a 5 speed?

im just looking for opinions. pros/cons kinda deal.

hasport sells a conversion mount.. so you dont have to cut off the mount and put a new one in...

all you need to do is get the clutch master cylinder, lines, and shift linkage.

Also you will have to take the piece of sheet metal for the whole where the shifter goes off of a 5 speed civic or integra. You can drill it out.

I'm in the same boat

im leaning towards the 5speed swap b/c my car only has 75k miles and all the integras for sale over here have 100k+. still not sure though..i'm kinda lazy to be doing a manual swap

i would sell the car and buy a car that comes with a M/T. saves you money and the trouble of a conversion that you might not do right the first time. just my .02

i'd say it's worth it if you really wanna keep your car, especially if you've done a lot to it already.

But if not, then just sell it and buy another car thats m/t, and save yourself some money.

I had mine converted to manual last summer. It was done the same day and it drives just like stock. So there's nothing that can go wrong as long as you have everything done right.

its not that i have a butt-load done to it yet. but i do have my buddy club wheels and ive put a lot into it to get it to run properly. i got it for a good deal because of some of the minor **** wrong with it. my exhaust that i had custom made ... and i went through hell to find 98+ bumpers. which i ended up finding the front one in the dump on trash day = $FR.EE, and the rear i picked up off a local guy that totalled his gsr for $50.00.

as far as mods: not a lot. as far as my time/money invested so far: not worth selling it to me.

I have several friends that swapped AT - MT, so i would say go for it

Sounds like you would be doing a complete swap anyway if you bought another car

yeah thats the way i see it. if i got another honda (most likely an EG hatch, i would be swapping in the motor i already have AND the tranny i want) so i may as well save myself a world of ****, and just pay to swap JUST the tranny into the car i already have.

besides .... the dc2 has grown on me even more than before i bought it

if thats the way you feel about your car, then make it a project

When I got mine done, I didn't wanna give up my car, so I just collected the parts myself and had a shop do it. Parts costed me about 700, labor 400. I'd say go for it.

Here's a good thread about the parts you will need, I used this thread myself:
