Actually the b16a1 is from europe cars..The motor you have if is from japan is a b16a sir1 and has 158hp..
And the b16a2 came in our cars(99-00 civic si)..And the b16a3 came in our doch vtec delsol..And both those motors have 168hp I believe

There was never a b16a1 in japan or north america. The only b16a1 was produced in europe and had 150hp or so. The b16a came from japan and the b16a2 and a3 are from north america.
A hint about engine codes....north american and european honda and acura engines have numbers after the b18a.. and b16a... etc while the japanese motors don't they are just b18c b16a etc.

oh..
The higher hp from the sir2 is from the compression ratio?

Yeah it is a little higher from what I have seen. I believe the 1st gen b16a and b16a2 and a3 are 10.2:1 static compression while the jdm b16a SiRII has a 10.4:1 static compression ratio.

I have to disagree. Say what you want about the VR6. But those Golfs are PIGS. I mean, how Volkswagen could make such a small car weigh 3000+ pounds (as much as the MUCH larger Prelude!) is beyond me. Furthermore, VR6 power output is really not too impressive. I don't understand why everyone seems to think it is somehow the epitome of engine design. Many less-hyped engines do MUCH better in the department of power output (like BMWs 3.2 liter M3 motor with 333HP, 262ft-lb torque). Only in the last couple of years has power output been an even 200HP from 2.8 liters (which certainly isn't impressive when compared to something as mundane as Honda's 3.0 liter, 240-255HP Accord V6!). And this is just not too impressive in a car as heavy as a Golf. Older VR6s only put out about 180HP - certainly nothing impressive in a 3000+ pound car. Needless to say, I have not seen any at the track that were too quick. They all basically seem to be mid to high 15 second cars - slower by quite a bit than a B16A driven by even someone who can't launch well. Now I am not sure what kinds of mods are available for those cars. But stock, they just don't impress me. And modified? Well, keep in mind that you can probably do anything to a B16A that you can do to a VR6.

besides the compression difference and obd1 the SIR II also had .4-6mm more of lift as well on intake and exhaust lobes. oh yeah and the fact it made power to 7800 instead 7600.

basically your an *******. a guy on here had a 1.8T like you with more mods and got rid of it. people see the light eventually. mind you "Seven" has owned a 1.8T, a mk3 vr6 gti and other VWs. i could name countless cars that i driven in that FELT FASTER but really werent when i raced them against my b16 crx. when i drove a 99 EM1 Si and 03' EP3 Si i thought they were faster. but then race from stop and from a roll i would pull away all the time.
also stock or mildly modded factory turbo cars feel faster than everything on the road on your *** and back(basically butt dyno). but you pull up to a hybrid the first thing that happens after 1st gear is oh **** and you giggle like a school girl and give
or you get pissed and throw a finger sky high like the rice boys. example my old FWD gst vs gutted/modded ek b18c5 hatch i had him til mid third gear. my car felt faster but it wasnt in action.

you all are talking about swaps
take a 99Si vs a 99.5GTi VR6 then see what happens, i bet it will be a very close
race
you put a B16 CRX against a 91GTi w/ a VR6 and the B16 gets laughed at

i believe the vr6 is one of the baddest cars out there. especially the golf thats a rare vr6. and the corrado OMG sexy. In my ls crx i got my *** handed to me by an old man in a corrado. his was really clean and ofcourse mods. vr6's have teh MEANEST sounding v6 i have EVER heard in my life too. I am a die hard honda fan and the stock vr6 jetta is 15.5, the golf i have no idea! prolly 15.0 MAYBE. the corardo i dont know either.
here we go again! the crx sir was the fastest honda made(im talking JDM)beisdes the nsx UNTIL the s2k came out pushing a 14.1. the sir came in at 14.4..it took 12 years, to come up with a car that was as quick as the crx. not even the type r could take it but it was close. so the sir crx still owns the vr6 BUT its hard to say cause the vr6 has CRAZY reactions to mods. i mean u chip it and exhaust and that ******* gone! u chip and put exhaust on the b16 and yea u feel it but it doesnt push it THAT much faster over the line.
and the reason u guys think these other cars are faster is because they have more torque! member the b16 has like 99 wheel torque at 7k rpm! my gf has a scion tc with 160ft of toruw( 140 at the wheels) and yea it feels faster cause u get thrown into ur seat. but in a 1/4 i know my b16 crx would have passed it up so fast its not funny. anyway id say either or. id love to have a vr6 laying around cause itd be fun. theres a water cooled club up here all vw's and they have some bad *** cars.

first off i owned and my best friend has a 95 vr6 gti and i know for a FACT that it is faster mabe not so the gti but my corrado would smoke a b16 any day stock i rad a 14.265 w/ 2.101 60 foot at 100.1 mph i owned them both so dont tell me and as for my turbo 1.8t it ran a 13.90 at 104.3 so it is not just in my head im not bashing the b16 they are just two different power curvs as for the asses that like to bash the VWs there just jelous cuz they cant afford one
The Golf GTi ('95) 2.0 16v should be 0.2 seconds slower than a Golf VR6 and it is. We have tested few times. But, i'll wipe them with my D16 Dohc engine.
The balance is most important.

i had a 98 Yellow GTI Vr6 very rare just like the blue ones. had BPU+, chip, carbon fiber hood and passenger and rear seats/spare out and i couldnt break 13s. 14.2 all day!!
same mods on b16 crx.
JDM CRX SiR b16 vs 98 or 2002 GTIvr6.. crx wins.
JDM CRX Si DOHC ZC vs GTI vr6.. tie with possible vr6 pulling away from zc.
CRX Si sohc nonvtec vs 2.0 16v GTI.. crx wins AGAIN.

how about this: up until january 7th i owned both of the vehicles in question. and i can honestly say that my b16 hatch walked all over my vr6 gti. weight is the answer to that.
if anyone disagrees with this they are flat out wrong and i have the timeslips for both cars to prove it.
91 hatch w/b16 (pre stroker kit): 13.9
95 gti vr6: 15.2
same track, same driver, same conditions...completely different cars.
