You could probably do it with a GSR block, some CTR .25 over pistons, GSR head too, and some 2001 Type R cams with Hondata, you would probably come pretty close, you might need to port the head a little bit and use a Skunk2 or Blox IM, unless you used a Type R head and you had a Type R manifold but you would have more compression with the GSR head and CTR pistons than with a Type R/B16 head. That sounds about right, right people?

Most I have seen so far is a GSR block with P30 pistons and Type R cams making 180whp, but thats with no head porting and only 11.6:1 cr, with CTR pistons you would be closer to 12:1.

considering this is in the all motor section I think that statement is a little silly.

Tuning is the key, plus I dont know why people always rave about CTR cams so much, they are the same things as 2001 ITR cams that you can buy from anyone.

Also to aLLmTrek, who is your friend? Is he from Alameda?

You are probably going to need to run civic type r pistons or atleast p30 since any lil bit of power you can get is needed. But the biggest factor is going to be the head flow, headers and tuning.

If thats all it takes to make 200 than why are people with buddy club III's and S2s2's barely making over 200, even with the tuning?

my friend had a jdm itr motor. built by comptech. it had .25 over ctr pistons, fully ported head and manifold, 97 spec itr cams, comptech 4-2-1 headers on 91 pump gas and obd2 ecu made 200 hp, dyno was done at JG .i guess here it was all in the head work. he told me one of his old friend ported his head, his friend is a old school amiercan v8 guy. the car ran 13.2 in a ek coupe on street tires with jdm itr piston. car was stolen a few months after the new motor was built and tune, so never got to time it

If I were trying to do it, here's what I'd do, making the assumption that the rules included not modifying any of the OEM parts, exception being the ECU:

OEM oversize PCT pistons
OEM 00/01 ITR head with cams and complete valvetrain
OEM ITR intake mani and throttle body, no intake
OEM headgasket with center layer removed
OEM JDM 4-1 header, no cat or exhaust
OEM CTR N1 crank pulley
Crome equipped P30 ECU

Not sure it would make 200 whp, but I do believe I could get it pretty damn close.

although tuning is always the big factor,

its impossible to compare between dynos, epecially when they could be at much different altitudes and ambient air temperatures, different types of dynos and calibration, etc, etc, etc.

one persons 195whp setup in arizona could just as easily be over 200 on a different dyno in jersey, or one across the street for that matter.

Why are people listing their set-ups with a Skunk2 intake manifold and a Toda header? He said only using OEM parts

i'm pretty sure he meant OEM internals, not many people these days are looking for 200 hp on a oem exhaust manifold, give me a break
