Default Top Speed: J1 + B18C1 + CRX = 147mph@8000rpms.

I know there was discussion before about the top speed of J1s and such.

Well, in case it was never actually answered

with a relatively stock B18C1 (chipped ecu, S2 IM, DC header, FPR, and air element), in a 1920lb CRX, with a J1 gearbox... it'll go 147mph at 8000rpms and will go faster, if there was another gear (or more RPMs).

Ran CalSpeedway this past weekend and I had to lift around the oval cause I was running out of RPMs and cause my car doesn't like 120+ turns, even on an oval. So, as i was coming to the turn, i would lift and hold RPMs steady at around 6000rpms (110mph) and guys would seriously fly past me.

I calculated it by using this website Gear Calculator. I had 205/50-15s. I got the gear ratios from this website.

and I got video of the sessions. unfortunately, none of which is exterior video.

Topspeed: JDM S1 + B16 + CRX = 138mph at 8krpm

doesnt like turns dips cracks in road. and windsheild wipers go up and stick.

he did 147mph on the straight part of oval track of raceway. he had to lift throttle on the turns and decel to 110mph since his car didnt like doing 120+mph around the turn.

Thats cool, If you did like 85-90ish in my old RSX the wiper would just jump across the glass.

Can't get my 91-DX to do anything near 80ish...lol...

i was just calculating this type of thing last night.
there is cool excel file that helps.
tire diameter actually has a part in it.

Driven: damn that's cool that you ran an actual racetrack.
and thanks for the links to the calculator & gear ratio sites

Can someone tell me, with a stock body. What MPH the 1950lb chassis will lift off the ground and do a flip? I was estimating 160 but i think it might be more like 180. LOL

Saw your car there, looks pretty good What's the vent on the back window for? I didn't get up close to look at it, just took a pic of it over the fence.

on the other hand, my d16a6 + 10psi = 130mph pulls on the freeway quite often.

heheh, i get that question a lot

simpliest way of putting it:
Vegas + 120 degree weather + no AC = sweaty kam

Vegas + 120 degree weather + naca duct = less-sweaty kam

well, the Time Trials runs at every event HC does... it's just I got to figure out which events I want to go to.

Willow Springs in May looks like the next one for me though.
