1998 Accord with 76Kmiles what maintenance should I do?
Well, I hope some of you read my ordeal with engine light OBD2 P0420 code. The dealer finally replaced it for free based on the federal emission mandate 80K miles or 8 years. Honda Hollywood, bite me! You guys are typical rip-the-customer-off dealerships. Honda Hollywood cannot put one over with H-T members.
I now have 76K miles on my Accord. What parts should I be replacing at this mileage point? I have only replaced spark plugs, fluids, PCV valve, back break pads and A/C air filter. I have never and should I replace the spark plug wires, rotor, and cap assembly now or should I wait till I replace the timing belt at 110K miles. I have kids so I like to keep my Accord tip top shape, but I dont want to throw money away either. As of now, the car is running like new.
Thanks for the advise.

Since no one answered yet, i'll take the plunge.
first, have you thought of looking into your vehicle manual for that info?
1. engine oil change
2. rotate tires
3. inspect, adjust and clean brakes and parking brake
4. inspect axles, hoses, suspension, etc...
5. lube hinges
6. inspect and top off all fluids
7. inspect belts
8. replace interior pollen filter
9. check ai pressure in tires
that's all
It may be a good idea to replace fuel filter, sparky wires brake fluid next year.

Sounds like you have done everything needed at your milage. I would wait on the wires, rotor, dist cap and fuel filter for at least 100,000 and maybe more if it is running good. Remember the transmission flush if it is an automatic. You can't do that too much.
Thanks both of you.
I was about to replace the dist cap, wires and rotor. I'll go with the advise and wait till 100,000k miles. As of now, the car is running incredibly smooth.
I posted this because there are times when components should be replaced, but it is not listed in the books. I always like to hear other peoples experiences and advise. For instance, I never knew about replacing the air conditioning filter. My car only had 50,000 miles on it. I was shocked to find how dirty my filter was when I replaced it. It was great advise since I have a big problem with allergies.
Thanks again
