Honda engines have notoriously weak ringlands. H22's are the worst of them all. Turboing an H22 mandates aftermarket pistons, for anything more than 5 PSI, IMO.

Plus the cylinder sleeves on an H22 do not allow for Aftermarket pistons. Therefore if you go turbo on an H22, you'll need to sleeve it for high boost....

**** poor fuel management and bad tuning ruin pistons. I don't think OEM H22 pistons are weaker than any other OEM Honda piston. I think what has really given OEM H22 pistons a bad rep are all the JRSC horror stories (**** poor fuel management). There are many of us boosting on stock H22 bottom ends. I've been doing so for over 2.5 years.

With that said, a JDM H22A has higher compression than a USDM H22A1 or A4. Riskier for boost.

Didn't someone make about 400whp on a stock h22, and not crack the ringlands, but crack a rod, rather. . . .?

i live in india n we have absolutly no dynos here,,,,i was thinkin tat i can put the rev hard kit on my b16 motor becose the rev hard kit like any other kit has all machenicle gadgets for fuel manegment,so if i keep the kit at stock psi levels (7 psi) i should be ok without any dyno tuning

so considering my case can u tell me is a b16 turbo the best option for me or is there any other setup u guys would recomend

over here in india i could do a b18c5 with nitrous and cams for 5000 dolors n a b16 with a rev hard turbo kit for the same price wat shld i do......oh n i want to drag

Personally I would go with the turbo. It's cheaper in the longrun, and the power is there whenever you want it. (Refilling bottles is expensive)
